i've took my ps3 console an 80gb to have it fix at a repair shop. they had replace the lens on it 2 or 3 times and sent the chip thats in the blu ray drive out. it'll work for like a few days and while im in the middle of playing a game it'll frezze up and wouldnt read anymore. so they decided to refund my money back. anyone has n e ideas of whats causing it to burn out or how to fix the problem. dont really want to buy a new one if i dont have to. dude told me its done for and i just want other peeps opinion. thanks
I have a very strange issue too... My original model PS3 reads pretty well my CDs, DVDs, PS2, Blu-Ray Movies and PS3 games... With one exception: Demon's Souls. It start reading it, the logo appears at the bottom left on the screen and then stops. If I press the PS button to eject the disc or to "exit game" the PS3 restarts.
Ok... You might say "the game is totally damaged", but the disk is in mint codition and my OTHER PS3 read it and play it without any problem. Just in case, I ordered a new one on Amazon )the Greatest Hits version) just "to be sure" and my old PS3 does exactly the same: It just froze... Only with this game. All the others play wonderfully.
I dont know why this happens, and why with this ONLY game... I only KNOW ITS NOT THE DISC...
