I think i'm obsessed with keeping my ps3 disks from being damaged. Do you expirience such obsessions?

LOL, My Disc Jus Get Put On Desk, Nearly All Games Are In The Wrong Case Im So Messy, But Suprisingly None Of Them Are Scratched, They Might Look Nasty But Give it A Nice Wipe Down And Its Looks like New, Not A SCRATCH...Blu Rays Are Surprisingly Tough
You should see me if my friends are handling my games when they come over to game. I give them the dirtiest look ever like "handle my games GENTLY or you're going to get it!"
PLEASE stop typing like that. It makes it so much harder to read when you capitalize every single word.LOL, My Disc Jus Get Put On Desk, Nearly All Games Are In The Wrong Case Im So Messy, But Suprisingly None Of Them Are Scratched, They Might Look Nasty But Give it A Nice Wipe Down And Its Looks like New, Not A SCRATCH...Blu Rays Are Surprisingly Tough

I treat my PS3 like its a newborn baby. Heartless i know, but i don't even let my brother play it kuz i KNOW he plays it for hours on end and wont turn it off after a few hours of playing to let it cool down. I'm prolly one of the more serious cases of PS3 OCD.
Lol. I need to play for more than a few hours, especially since my exams are nearly over.I treat my PS3 like its a newborn baby. Yeah if anything that's just more opportunities to have it damaged you might drop it into a stone polishing machine that just happens to be under your PS3, but that's a long shot.I take very good care of my discs. I don't go as far as removing them when I'm done playing though like some people do.

I don't care too much about the boxes. I never touch the disks except on the edges, and they're either in the box or in the PS3 - or on the 10 second journey in between.
My PS3 gets the hand vac over the vents just about every week, and the exterior gets shined up with some eyeglass lens cleaner and a soft old cotton T-shirt.
Games aren't cheap so I would imagine it's pretty normal for gamers to keep their games in good conditon.
I think everyone has their own qwirks when it comes to thier games. I group my games together by genre.
I've always been pretty OCD about my games, often even electing to buy games new because I don't want discs that are even marginally damaged.
HOWEVER... for PS3 discs it's different. I wasn't aware for a long time that PS3 discs have a highly scratch-resistant coating. I know most of the employees at one of the Gamestops I frequent, and we were chatting one day and the topic of scratched discs came up, and how I usually bought new instead of used for this reason. And he told me "hey, check this out, PS3 discs are awesome!" He pulls out a random used PS3 game from behind the counter that's all scratched-up. He then proceeds to buff out all the scratches WITH HIS THUMB. And the thing looked brand new. I was flabbergasted.
So now I buy all my PS3 games used, because apparently you need to take a knife to them to actually hurt them at all.
On a semi-related note, my real OCD habit is that I will NEVER buy any game without the original case. Doesn't matter how good the price is or how rare it is or how much I want the game, I must have it with the case. I just hate having unlabeled games sitting on my shelf and trying to remember what they were, and home-made labels are too tacky. I'm so OCD about it that I even ordered mocked-up slipcovers and official Wii cases for Link's Crossbow training and Wii Sports, even though cases never existed for those games.
[QUOTE="jrorl63"] Blu ray disks are pretty scratch resistant so you dont really need to be TOO careful with them. Unlike a dvd[/QUOTE That's right. I take care of them, but if one of them breaks I won´t kill my self.
I sort all of my games in ascending order from when I bought them and I get annoyed if someone messes it up :P
I am that way with all of my electronics. As my inner angry Nazi would say, "They simply must be NEAT UND TIDY!!!!!!" I remember when I was trading in my old PSP to get credit towards the Big Boss Pack, there was not a single scratch, scuff, or fingerprint on it. The only way that you could tell that the system was showing it's age was due to the fact that it was unable to hold a charge and the surprise that overtook the employee testing the system when he realized that it had to be plugged in was priceless.
I wouldn't call it an obsession, but I keep my discs clean the way they should and always putback in the case when I'm done with it for the day. I can't understand why somepeople leave them lying around, it's just wrong.
Not just a PS3 thing but it kind of relates, I like to keep my stuff (games, movies, books and even the cards in my wallet) in alphabetical order.
I'm also pretty obsessive about where my games are on my shelf. I have all my games grouped by console. If I see a game out of place I'm like "Who put a PS 3 game in the Wii game section?!"

The only compulsive thing I do regarding my games is making sure they're in the correct box. I really irks me when my gf puts the wrong game in a box, ARGH!

This.
Meh.. This is only annoying with old PC games that has been put in the wrong box and then in the basement. When you finally get around to play Diablo 2 and find Rise of Nations in the D2 box -> [insert rage guy]I treat my PS3 like its a newborn baby. Heartless i know, but i don't even let my brother play it kuz i KNOW he plays it for hours on end and wont turn it off after a few hours of playing to let it cool down. Pretty much like my case.
Brother: Can I play some PS3? :|
Me: GO wash your hands NOW! You don't want to harm the joystick, do you?
I'm the same way you are with my game discs. As far as game cases and manuals are concerned, I'm not that concerned with keeping them in tip top shape.
Leaving game disks around should be punishable by federal law. Anyone who breaks it should get thrown in a secret prison somewhere on a mid atlantic island never to see the light of day again.I wouldn't call it an obsession, but I keep my discs clean the way they should and always putback in the case when I'm done with it for the day. I can't understand why somepeople leave them lying around, it's just wrong.
