I recently found a pretty good deal on a hdtv for my ps3, its a 32in Vizio 720p for 600 bucks. Sounds like a good deal even though i know Vizio isnt as great of a company as the other big ones. But does the ps3 still look that much better on 720p or should i just not buy it unless its a 1080p?

I have 2 Vizios and my brother has 1. They're great tv's for a great price. If you're going from SD to HD you're going to notice a huge difference.

Thats exactly what i got but mine was cheaper go to Sams club they got cheaper Vizio tvs. But anyways its a great tv for a bedroom, but as u can see 1080p tvs are getting cheaper fast! So u could buy this one then upgrade to 1080p inthe future (that what iam doing) or just get this one its a good tv for the price.

You won't need 1080p on a 32" if you get a 40+" TV then 1080p would be worth the extra bucks, but don't worry about it if it's 32".

true,no point in 1080p on 37'' and below unless your tv supports 24fps,but that dont matter much for gaming

Just a quick heads up, im not sure about america but here in europe the ps3 doesnt come with the correct cables for hd, you need to buy them seperatly.

The worst part is that over here the console is advertised as the only console to support "true HD"

It's the same here. The issue has more to do with the adoption rate of HD displays. No reason to pack in HD cables when the majority don't even own HD displays, plus it keeps costs down and is effectively a common denominator cable.

most games are 720p. if they have a software scaler built in to them they usually look worse on 1080. You should try sears before you get that t.v., I bought a 50" 720p for my brother their for only 500.00 bucks, It was the display model, but you couldn't beat the price.

Yea but my problem is with the advertisment of the ps3 as a HD console. The adverts would apeal with someone who has a hd tv and wants to feel this true hd experience, but cant untill they get a seperate lead for it.

The 360 even comes with component cables, it would just be better business to pack somthing in with it.

Isn't it?

It would also appeal to the large Sony Playstation base in EU, most of which don't have HD sets but could further justify the purchase of one because of their want of a PS3. Most people interested in tech trend generally do their homework on what the package offers and decide what they need in addition before they even head to the store.

The 360 even comes with composit cables, it would just be better business to pack somthing in with it.Rath3rDashing

It also doesn't do 1080p over composite or have to deal with DRM because it's using a pirate-able format.

Buy it. It's a great TV for the price, and you wont need 1080p, unless it's 40" and above.

Shop around if you're looking for an HD screen. I bought a floor model 1080p 24fps Toshiba 42" LCD flat panel for 800 bones at Circuit City.

The TV should do a great job at that size, just remember to get a inexpensive HDMI cable (don't buy the expensive one because there really isn't a difference in the cables when it comes to how it delivers the signal to the TV).
