ps3 on monitor help please??

My monitor uses a vga connector, i am used to hooking my 360 up to it but i cant find any cables for ps3 that will connect to the vga monitor.... any help lol?

well i bought a hdmi to dvi cable, then bought a connector that connects the dvi with the vga monitor but no picture came through?

it's probably becuase HDMI carries both audio and video, same with DVI i think and not the same with VGA which only carries videos.

no dvi only carries video...its probably because hdmi/dvi is digital and vga is analog.

hdmi-dvi cables will work but you need an hdcp compliant monitor...pick up a samsung syncmaster...they are relatively cheap

Been researching this myself (as my monitor has DVI and VGA but doesn't support HDCP). Seems the only way to get VGA out of the PS3 is to use component cables into a VGA transcoder box.

get a HDCP monitor.. if you get 24inches you get 1080p.....

one more thing - what format did you pick to output? What does your monitor accept? That could led to no picture if you are sending 1080p - if you never got in the system can you hook it up somehwere and just set it to output 480p then try it on the monitor

The cheapest solution for a VGA monitor is playasia's VGA box. It's $49. Converts component signal into VGA, while there is an option to use it like a KVM switch with your PC.
