Did the playstation 3's service suffer problems during the christmas season just like xbox live did? I'm just asking because I paid money for 360's live and it went down when I needed it most. Whereas, for you guys its free.
No problems at all I own both the 360 and Ps3 and would say that the games ive played on PSN online are lag free. Just wish that the XMB in game access was availible soon in the next update and the Playstation store cards was released soon then it would be great.

It needs a better community feel, and almost no one voice chats in the games so that basically throughs the social aspect out the window. Maybe Home will change this...

Im not blaming PSN. Im just saying I rather go on live where people talk instead of sitting on PSN with dead silence. I even said I hope it gets better.

Everyone keeps complaining about people not using a mic on PSN... I couldn't be happier about it. I hate listening to little punks on xbox live who aren't old enough to beplaying M rated games, but they've duped their parents into letting them buy Gears of War or w/e. Saves me the trouble of not having to mute anyone.

UT3 has quite a bit of lag, but thats the game, not the playstation network. I had a 360 for a week and i got red ringed on the 8th day :/

Yeah Italk all the time in every online game I have, and nobody answers.
i have both consoles and do not mind 4 bucks a month for a service that is ALOT better imo than psn
psn's download speeds are sooooooooooooooooooooooo slow it took me like an hour to download a 640mb grand turismo demo last night where as i could have downloaded that in like 10-25 minutes on xbox
i have had no problems with it at all. when i had live i always ran into problems. i prefer my free PSN over live that you have to pay for. i like the interface and navigation more as well. a better deal in my opinion.
:P and i like the private chat thing whilst in any game, i hope when they upgrade my ps3's firmware there will be better chat **** andother **** but i love my ps3 soo sexy next to my tv mmmmm
Going fine minus the CoD4 servers :( + you don't those annoying lil kids like in Halo (not trying to flame.) But whenever I'm playing at a friend's house you'll have like 7 year olds swearing over the headset.
no its not. the reason why live got messed up was because so many people were playing at once, that the system crashed down. mostly because of COD4 and Halo 3. And i think live is better than PSN; more features

Sucks for you all then. I've had my Xbox 360 since December 22, 2005 and I haven't had one single problem.But I like both online services a lot. It's just that PSN is a little newer, give it time and it will get a lot better. I can't wait for Home!8)
Yesterday I couldn't sign into the PSN for around 20 min, which was frustrating since I had a friend over and we wanted to play online. We had to play Co-Op until I could get on again.

This problem has happened to me quite a few times. It's cool that PSN is free and comertial free, but I really wouldn't mind at all paying for some more solid service, and more of a comunity feel.
If it did suffer problems, I'd be tolerate because it's free. Lucky for me, it didn't. COD4 has problems but that's it. PSN is the best free service out.

Still the events that happened with XBL should not have happened and I dont think the number of people joing live and playing games and whatnot is an excuse, they should of been ready.

Aparently the 360 got a huge member increase and live couldnt deal with it.

Can I go online and play games online with PSN? Yes. Can I download the latest demos and not have to wait a week? Yes. Can I buy classic games? Yes.
Does it have the bells and whistles? No. Does it have the classic arcades games like Moonwalker and TMNT? No.
Is that worth 50 dollars a year? Very subjective. I say no. But to each their own. Factor in everything the PS3 gives you, all the features it does, all the exclusives and inhouse games coming, and I think I can overlook PSN being generic.
i have no problem with PSN, but cmon everyone has to agree PSN has alot to work on, I understand it is free un live lives 7.99 a month or 4 bucks monthly for a year. but we need in game chatting, IN GAME MESSAGING, voice messages, picture messages, and thats about all i can think of, hopefully sony will fix these problems.
i like Live alot better than PSN but Home is the future and we will have amazing things changed round time then and the PSN will be 10 times better than it is now all we need is Home....Home is where it truly shines and afterwards it can only be steps up the stairs
