PS3 is easily the best console I have ever purchased; well worth the wait I believe. Sony has revolutionised Online Gaming for at least me anyway. When I got my PS3, online multiplayer didnt even cross my mind, and now im totally addicted. I only want to play online, Ive bought RB6 and GRAW2 and have hardly touched the offline Single Player! GRAW2 online is the best fun Ive had in years, and Im pretty hardcore when it comes to gaming.

Who else Agrees?

Online Multiplayer is the future of gaming! and Im looking forward to it!

LoL, if you're such a hardcore amer it kinda surprises me that you didn't think about online gaming beore your purcahse. But seriously, I agree. The accessible online console play of this gen (360 as well, should be honest) really adds something and warrants hours upon hours of fun.

Well, I honestly think Microsoft revolutionized the Online Gaming Field and Sony has taken what they wanted to present to the gaming field and brought it to their consumer base. And both platforms have their Pros and Cons. I'm a little more inclined to say that Microsoft has the edge on the Online Gaming Community at the moment, as it's much easier to jump into an online game thanks to Xbox Live. However, with 'Home' around the corner I think Sony may be catching upon lost ground quickly. That is, if they do it right, as it is with all things. And again,as I say when I present both sides of my opinion I want to say that I'm in no way backingone or the other. I simplyam an unbiased gamer who enjoys both consoles equally for both their strengths.

LoL! Much easier to jump into an online game with the 360. That's **** If you play RFOM you just start up your game, select multiplayer game, the type of game and off you go. How can that be less easy than the 360 way. But this topic wasn't about which systems online is better. Go to system wars if you like to discuss that.

As I said, I'm not trying to start a system war here. I'm being open minded, which by the way, you are not. And it seems as if you do not have a 360, so are biased towards the PS3. It's understandable; up until I got the PS3, I was more biased on the side of the 360, wanting nothing to do with the PS3. Now I have both and I can honestly say that joining games and joining up with your friends is much easier on the 360, thanks to Xbox Live's interface. However, with 'Home' it seems that PS3 may have found their way to make jumping into a game with your friends and keep track of what your friends are doing (EVEN while you are in a game). So instead of bashing me for supporting both systems I think you shouldopen your mind to the possibility that both systems have their pros and cons.

I'm pretty sure that sony jump started online on the conlsoles socom 1 anyone

still one of the best online experiences I ever had socom 1 n 2 online rocked

best 3rd person shooter online graw 2 is pretty but thats it.

it has nothing on socom 1 n 2

infact if you look at the online interface for socom it's still beats 90%

of new game interfaces in my view.

to bad zipper dropped the ball a bit with socom 3 n combined assault.

plus they boast a better mic system then 90% of online games crystal clear

L2 in lobby circle in game alot better then L3 like warhawk

open mics suck

I wasnt sold on the idea of online gaming on a console until Warhawk. I tried Halo 2, Forza 2, Madden, NCAA Football and was never all that impressed...RFOM and R6V was a little better but Warhawk is what did it for me.

I have been impressed with the terrific lag free enjoyable game. 16 v 16 is a perfect match up and really if this is indication of the kind of free online gaming Im going to get from Sony then to hell with the $50/yr. for XBL

Socom 1 and 2 multiplayer was non existant for alot of Playstaion 2 users. PS2 was the worst investment i have ever made. Online play didnt kick of here in Australia. Plus i did play Socom 1, it was ok; but had flaws, my team would always get stuck somewhere which annoyed me greatly, so i never played it again. Maybe the next gen socom will live up to my expectations and be awesome. But with games like Killzone, drakes fortune, Fifa08, and others im pretty sure ill never get this game, unless it gets rave reviews!

online is what made socom great but most if not all ps2 games had poor ai

I only had 2 knocks against socom 1 n 2 online

Lag and cheaters eventually took over but before the cheaters it is a better online shooter

then almost any console shooter online 2 date I'm like wow people like rb6 vegas online and it's got nothing

other then graphics compared to socom

I wish more developers could relize that 3rd person is better then first person

only 3 online shooters that i hold in the smae ballpark as socom and thats warhawk-halo- and unreal tourney

cod4 has promise i think metal gear online will suck sorry maybbe n this is a big maybee uncharted online will be kewl

It seems your a little late to the party, online multi-player is a big part of gaming has been for a few years allot of xbox and ps2 titles had online gaming, but an online only game will never sell as well as a game with both or even a game with just a great single player like bioshock, res evil etc.

And sony have really done nothing in the online space 3rd partys and developers like insomniac implement there own online features in the ps3, so rb6 and graw2 online features where made by ubisoft developers.

Microsoft revoltionised online console gaming(not being a fanboy i love my ps3 but its the truth) when home comes out sony will have finally added there contribution to online console gaming but as its stads now they really have very little community feautres on ps3.

Sorry it's much easier to sign up for a xbl account than a psn account, as soon as you power up your 360 on the first page it says sign up to xbl, and then you go through the same method as psn enter you name, email etc etc.

On psn the sign up page is all the way to the right and then down a few places(obviously its not hard but its more hidden than the xbl sign up).

There both easy to do but if somebody with no knowledge of ps3 and 360 would find its easier to sign up to xbl, ive seen plenty of threads in this board of people asking how to sign up to psn and never seen the same thread in the 360 board.

yes psn is free but xbl is well worth the money for what you get maybe when home comes out and its free then i will question the xbl price.

Resistance still is fun. Don't know about The Darkness, I kinda not liked the demo, but it's up to you to decide on that one.

you know w hat you get what you pay for i think its unfair to compare PSN to Xbox live, something we honestly shouldn't be doing on this forum anyways, but if we are i mean xbox live is great it has many amazing features and its integrated with all games, PSN is more the developers responsibility and well they'll always try to cut corners.

but this time around PSN is much better then it was on playstation 2 and well i never liked paying for live specially since i would stop playing one it sometimes for months and i still have to pay for it. so its a matter of what you are willing to pay for. personally PSN in my opinion has its short comings but its free it works and thats good enough for me. and its the reason i always get multiplat on-line games for the ps3

obviously its not as easy for me thats whyI put in bold/italic/underline IMO

No, it's not just the dedicated servers. The player made servers are all very good as well, even the ones with high ping. This is because:

1) You cannot host games larger than your connection can handle.

2) Theycut out all of the crap that may cause you to obtain lag. i.e. Tons of animations, loads of physics object, un-needed debris, etc.

I agree. live has a btter online for joining games and stuff but psn is getting better and better. I had a 360 but got rid of it.

LOL funny how you talk about RB6 and GRAW2 ... because they are ports .... if they were made FOR sony your message would have had more impact on me

... i just like my ps3 because it looks great in the shelf, and i now can watch a lot of movie lying on my bed :)

GRAW2 was not a port, RB6 yes but it was a fairly decent port!

I kind of understand where you are going with this, but how can you not say GRAW2 was a port when GRAW2 on the 360 came out over.......hell...3-4 months ago.

XBOX Live launched for the original XBOX how many YEARS ago? Yeah, Sony really revolutionized gaming/online gaming. I own a PS3 and a 360 and XBOX Live is the reason I've decided that any multiplatform game I will buy for 360.

Seeing as Ps3 is your first console online ill pardon the 360 better online arguement. But yeah online is tons of fun. Many games i ahvent even touched the single player. Only playing online. Should prolly get warhawk as its the best online ps3 game atm(who knows something could be better in the future)

Ahh, I see. Well yes, online gaming is amazing. To truly see what it can offer though, you should see XBL. It really did make online gaming what it is today.

Online Multiplayer is the future of gaming! and Im looking forward to it!

wade3024

Get Warhawk dude. Easily the best MP experience on the PS3. I'm so hooked right now.

Why? It's a PS3 board. Go back to SW.
