All right so basically what happened was I was playing Turok on my brothers ps3...alll good then i play for approximately 1 hour and the thing just turns off... so I immediatly turn the power completely off and i havent turned it on since. Should I turn it on????
wow 1hr :| props to turok for burning down the system in 1hr! and i dunno maybe a power surge or something of that sort. Overheat in 1hr sounds a bit :S
well i am not a pro at these things but yuh, turn it back on...you cant leave it off 4ever XD
yah the exact same thing just happened to me while i was playing oblivion, im just playing and my ps3 just randomly shuts off and the red light keeps blinking, i dont know what to do either i think i might have to replace it...
yah the thing is that i turn it on and its cool but after like 10 mins of playing oblivion and basically every other game i have it just shuts off i dunno whats up, its so annoying not even demos work, my ps3's busted :(
I never turn my PS3 off and it hardly ever flickers. The only thing that causes the PS3 to over heat is if there is no air flow around it or something is covering the vents (a kid put black tape over the vents a while back to keep the dust out but instead cooked the console). The yellow light may mean the HDD is busy or it may not be making good connection inside (in which if it's removed and replaced it could correct the problem).
oh thats bad but if theres tape on the fan thing TAKE it off or you could destroy your ps3 and make sure your useing the sony power adaptor and read the ps3 manual and you could call sony if you are using a non offical powar device your ps3 is dead and make sure your not using a non offical power device use the one it came with the thing that destroys systems now is non offical powar devices so call sony or something:?
Isn't the 40GB supposed to consume less energy and thus emit less heat? I'll just wait for their next sku which is supposed to be more energy efficient.
Problem I let it sit for about 45 minutes now and I turned it back on and the light goes yellow then blinks red... is this a hardware malfunction?sweet1234
the light turns yellow? oh man. thats the same idea as the red ring for the 360. good thing u have a warranty
It happened to me before, my ps3 just shut off by itself, I was like "what the" I thought it mightve been just a split second power black out but then I realized its not, coz if so the tv wouldve turned off aswell, so I just turned it on again straight away and it was fine, its still working perfectly fine now.
my ps3 only froze once while playing assassin's creed... but that's it. i've only had my ps3 for 2 weeks though... i was about to assassinate this guy and right before my blade touched the guard... ---------------------------------------- :P
Well I just played burnout paradise for almost 12 hours straight today, since I'm sick and absent from school. Still works fine, but I got it last friday.
