Category A - The kid. He could afford to buy the console because he lives with his parents and doesn't have living expenses to worry about. Probably saved up his allowance and birthday money from uncle Bob. Typically engages in flame wars.
Category B - The hardcore. This guy doesn't live with his parents, and he even has a job. But he lacks a social life. He doesn't spend much money on going out, so there's plenty for games. He probably owns every console, ever, and at least three versions of any given game.
These are the general categories. Both are minorities, hence PS3's market failure at the moment. I'm sure there are few exceptions (me being one).
