PS3 owners...i got a question

i talked to my brother in Michigan and he told me not to buy ps3 since is having proiblems and people are returning it .....i dont want to take the risk and buy one so then later it stops working :S...

What do u ppl thintk??...and also what are the ps3 types u have 20, 40 or 80 ...

I have a 60GB and breaking down is extremely rare. I'm not saying it's invincible, but where reliability is concerned, it's virtually a non-issue for the PS3. Your brother is getting PS3s and 360s mixed up most likely.

ps3 has a less then 2% hardware failure rate. the xbox 360 has a 25 to 32% failure rate. thas a BIG differencs. dsmusician

As the others have said, the PS3 is incredibly reliable.

I have a 60gb and it's used constantly, and no troubles here.:D

I was doing some experimenting with mine and had all these cables running to it. I accidently tripped on one and pulled my PS3 off my AV Rack. It only fell about 4 feet and my TV went black. I restarted and it's been running fine ever since. Thankfully! When the TV went black I was like "oh crap."

If he lives in Michigan, You cant believe anything he says. :P They also say they can beat OSU every year and loose! Michigan is kinda like the 360. It had a good start in the OSU, Mich series, but just is not much in the end.

It is more safe buy a Ps3 than a 360 if you are afraid it get broken.aroxx_ab

Sony said the defect is 0.02% so basically 2 per 10,000. Your brother is confused with X360. That system cost MS over $1 billion in warranty service just last year.EmperorSupreme

And has a 30% breakdown rate. A rate that the Microsoft company and it workers ware kinda sworn not to talk about. And still are. But more on that latter lol. All of that stuff, is plenty of more latter :!

Yeah, well your brother in Michigan don't know crap about the ps3.

I have the 80gb...the one thats supposed to suck. But no. I have not experienced one frozen screen or anything along the lines of something bad. Its the Xbox 360s that are being returned....they even have their own indicator that they are overheated because it happens so much. I work at Best Buy, I get one overheated Xbox 360 at least once everyday.

You should get a ps3. I love it, I dont understand why so many people question it. Makes no sense.

hahaha My cousin threw mine off of the dvd player the other day, and I just about beat that little @$$ red until i found out it worked. I was to happy to be mad at him.

The ps3 is a tank, no joke. Don't go hittin it with hammers though.

I once left my PS3 on for 3 days and only found out when my cousin called me and said why wont you return my message and i said because im not on and he said yes you are and i found that is was just sitting there, on for 3 whole days. IT WAS WARM! I shuther off and let her rest a bit bewfore i played again but i will never forgive myself for letting my beautiful PS3 be one for 3 days. Still, IT WAS WARM!!! Do that to 360 and it'll blow.Killer-X5

hahaha yeah the 360's front plate is curved in to try to look cool and contemporary and all, but the design actually brings the wires and hardware close and will melt it if you arent careful. I know this stuff, I used to be all for the 360 and against the ps3, but...yeah

PS3 rock buy it dont listen to any Xbox fan they know nottin Ps3 will not die on on it rocks
