Just you the HDMI port. Not all moniters have dedicated HDMI ports and need adapters, but if it has a deticated port it'll work fine.
Just make sure it has HDPC surport, cause if it don't you'll just get a blank screen
Whoa this is news to me! Uhh lemme look and see if the one I want has it. EDIT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009157 Does this have HDPC support? :DJust you the HDMI port. Correct. The audio output options are HDMI, Optical, and RCA (the red and white cables). If your speakers connect via a 3.5 mm (like how you connect to an iPod or Zune) then you will need an adapter.HDCP doesn't matter for non Blue Ray things. All HDCP does is give you a no 1080p picture when you play Blue Ray movies. Sony made it so games don't hav this issue. All HDCP is a copy protection mechanism that the movie companies use because there afraid of piracy.Just you the HDMI port. If you're connecting a monitor to the PS3 with HDMI you'll be able to give audio and video to the monitor because an HDMI cable can transmit both. Therefore, if you select HDMI audio on the PS3, sound will come out of the monitor's built in speakers. If the monitor does not have built in speakers but has a 3.5 mm jack (common with computer speakers), enabling HDMI audio on the PS3 and plugging your computer speakers into your monitor will give sound out of your speakers. If your sound system is higher quality it'd be best to connect it via optical directly to your PS3. In this case you'd connect an optical cable from the receiver the subwoofer is connected to to the optical slot on the back of the PS3 and enable optical audio on the PS3.
The PlayStation 3 can output sound simultaneously from the HDMI OUT connector, the DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) connector, and the AV MULTI OUT connector.
This is done with the [Audio Multi-Output] option found in Settings icon (Settings) > Sound Settings icon (Sound Settings). Available with system software 3.00 or later.
* Off: Disable the multi-output feature.
* On: Enable the multi-output feature.
Audio output to connectors that are not selected in Settings icon (Settings) > Sound Settings icon (Sound Settings) > [Audio Output Settings] is downscaled to 2 channels.

I'm just going to say I hooked my PS3 to a non HDCP Screen and had no picture not even for the dash. You may be partly right but I will guarentee that you will be very unhappy buying a non HDCP monitor when you try and hook up your PS3, but whatever.
hey, im also planning on using an LCD monitor to play my ps3 slim and im wondering whether

this monitor will work, with HDMI -> DVI cable or simply HDMI, as well as pc speakers connecting to the monitor.
