PS3 potential buyer, please convince me

okay so coming into christmas of 09 i have 300 dollars to spend and i have finished my shopping for my family

i already own a 360 and DSi as well as a 19" hdtv which is perfect for me

now i have been looking at what to invest my money in and so far i have various ideas

- kwa mp7 (airsoft gun)

- clothes (but really i could care less about fashion)

- speaker system (would go welll with 360)

- PS3 (of course)

- wii (my family would enjoy it, and i love nintendo, but i has DSi so mehbeh not)

- 22" t.v. (mehbeh and give other one to brother)

- lol i could buy a bunch of gundam models to build

Now my friend has the original what was it 80gb ps3 from launch and has no problems with it and i play on it almost everyday so i know how awesome it is. The games of course are stellar and the online is free so i wouldn't worry about live + psn fees. It plays blu-rays (but honestly blu-ray is expensive and dvd are good enuf). The new slims are pretty sexy but i am worried about the error problems (or is that just 360 fanboys?) also i heard the blu-ray player in older models not working so im hesitant to buy used. I still have my ps2 so no need backwards compatability i guess.

I guess what i want is the best sells pitch you could give to a 360 user to buy a ps3. I want everything please from games already to upcoming ones. the benefits of ps3 over 360. the reliability and longevity of the ps3. I also want to know about features i ma not already know about. should i get fat or slim model, what games should i really get as a fps action fan (i know there is a section for this but i went there and i need only the best games and opinions on it) So please if you wouldn't mind i would love to hear your take.

The PS3 has the best exclusive games, the best blu-ray player on the market, free online play, full 1080p, built-in wi-fi.... I'll even be your first friend! Get a PS3 slim!

BTW, that's coming from a Xbox 360 user... so my vote deff counts.

Buy the PS3 slim I haven't heard problems of it. And please don't buy a used PS3 because its lifespan is already reduced and you'll have fun with it in a short time.

Uncharted 2 alone makes PS3 worth it. I like all the other things the PS3 can do but as long as it plays Uncharted 2 for me I'm good.

You cant make up your own mind about dropping 400 dollars on a console? Don't forget without games its just a large paperweight. o lawl i didnt know just wondering about issues with ps3 that i may encounter amongst other things now i just have to wait and see if bestbuy or wallmart has another bundle like black friday

Lots of things wrong with this thread. Asking if you should buy a PS3 is off-limits, as is asking for console recommendations in general or game recommendations. Asking about bluray outside of its specific functionality on the PS3 is also off-topic.
