Ps3 price drop - Fox News reports

This morning on fox news a guest with news in the technology sector and in gaming news as it relates to the economy was heard to say that Sony will be cutting the price of the ps3 by $100. No date was given as to when this might happen, just that it will happen.

Ps3 will really benefit from that kind of drop in price - it will be very competitive with the 360 at that point.

If it comes anywhere within the next 2 weeks just get a price match.

That is a little like reporting it's going to rain...you don't know where or when, just that at some point it will happen. Of course it will. Consoles drop in price over time. This isn't exactly news.

Hmmm, already knew this back at the end of 08. They never confirmed a date but said more then likely sometime this year.

On a completely side note that has nothing to do with this, hehe. Fox is unreliable most of the time and hosted by ignorant people who look at themselves at celebs. Everything you hear on fox you probably looked up a whole few months before they got to it.

But yeah, suppose to drop from 100, but due to poor sales and a poor economy it could very well be another year before we see a price drop. Even in the game department, for instance, Heavenly Sword is still selling for 60 dollars, kind of a rip off for a game made in 07.

I hope it happens sometime soon. Sony would definetly benefit from this kind of price drop. Especially if they made some Killzone 2 TV ad and at the end put "Now only $299"

Same here and I never complained as we had the better hardware with full BC... i regret having to sell it but at least when i rebuy it I won't be spending quite that much this time around... even if its not as great as the launch systems were.

they will...and its gonna be sad..last year when i got my 40gig for 400...like one or 2 months later they dropped the 80gig to 400 and bundled with dualshock 3 ..i was pissed !

What's with all the whining about "I just bought my for $399 this sucks wah wah wahhhhh" I paid $599 in dec of 06 and not once did I complaint to anyone considering that at current price I took a $200 hit and if the price does lower that means $300 hit instead.
