PS3 Problems

So i bought a play station refurbished,the last of us and uncharted,on disk. But when i go to play the last of us it gives me the epileptic warning and just goes black. Uncharted goes to the gold coin and just spins infinity and freezes. But everything else works its just the games.

so the other games work fine?

there the only two i have but they just don't run. Fun i get a ps3 but it wont work. :(

Well usually when you buy a refurb it comes with a 30 day warranty. Definitely return it.

I had this problem when my disc drive went out on my first PS3. I then went through another refurb that had a separate problem. I would go ahead and return it while it is within the 30 days to be on the safe side, even though I know it is going to suck being without a system for a while.

Sounds like the Blu ray laser is failing. The Last of Us is a duel layer disk as is Uncharted 3 (not sure which one you've got). If it doesn't run Blu ray movies (a large number of which are duel layer) then it's definitely the laser diode. As I'm writing this I'm waiting for my fourth console in 2 years to be replaced with a brand new fifth console for exactly the same problem (second time the laser has failed, the other 2 were power supply died and hard drive crashed).

Regardless, take it back ASAP and get it repaired or replaced while it's still under warranty.
