there was a rumour of ps2 being emulated on the ps3 without the emotion chip or what ever its called but does it really matter if u have ps2 games then you probably have a ps2 console already

The 80GB PS3 doesn't have the emotion chip. Though it still does have some hardware for playing PS2 games.
