Well i be able to play ps1 games on it: Not sure about Ps1, but no Ps2 BC
whens it being released: Sometime between August and September
is it worth waiting: I'd say yes, only if you can't afford a Ps3 now, but there will be 2 less USB ports
Is this true: yep, it will be the same console but with more storage capacity for the same price.
Well i be able to play ps1 games on it: edit: i didnt know it plays ps1 games...
whens it being released: september
is it worth waiting: i would get the 80GB MGS4 bundle now...so u can play ps1/ps2 games too...

Well i be able to play ps1 games on it: no, the 40GB, and the 80GB that is coming out wont play ps1/ps2 games...only the 60GB, and the 80GB that is out now plays p1/ps2 games

my m8s 40g can play ps1 games ?
every ps3 can play ps1 gameszman_786
Yes, every PS3 can play PS1 games and some are downloadable from PSN store. PS2 compatability is what sony has done away with. As far as the post about fewer USB ports, ya its fewer than the 60Gig but the same as the 40Gig. I would wait I do believe it is supposed to hit stores this month but I could be wrong. I would recommend visiting PlayStation.com - Home and get the info first hand obviously some people dont know as much as they may think they know.

1)Yes it's true
2)You will be able to play PS1 BUT not ps2 games
3)The new 80 gig version is coming out late august or early september
4)Personally, i'd buy the MGS4 Bundle now. For the following reasons: The actual 80 gig version will have 2 more USB ports.
It will have SD reader, flash card reader etc the new one wont. It's also able to read PS2 games.
