I'm aiming to get a console soon... (i hope).... cos previosuly i was more towards PC gamin and thot i need a change..... so after hearing abt xbox's rrods i'm opting for the PS3.... (i hate things breaking down on me like that) I went out to do research and was REALLY impressed but a few issues are making me havin doubts.... 1st: Theres all this talk abt PS3's havin untapped potential... Is this true??? and wat do they mean??? 2nd:PSN cards.... can i use a debit card instead? (maybe i missed the part abt this one but, help a guy out ya?? =) ) 3rd:Blu-ray for games.... So? 4th:How long is sony committed to the ps3?? (Like they promised for the PS2's which was ten years) I'm kinda afraid that if i get this they're gna release sum other console or whatever.... I really wanna buy this thing so if you could help me out it'll be great!!! I'm nt a fanboy or anything i just love playing games and technology.... Thanx!!!!!

1- It means the PS3 is quite a powerful machine and we aren't yet seeing games that fully show off what it can do. Although this is true for any console that's only in it's 3rd year. 2- Yes. 3- Not much difference from DVD. There aren't a lot of games that really suggest Blu-Ray is necessary right now. 4- They're determined to have a 10 year lifecycle for the PS3. Out of all console manufacturers, Sony are the most dedicated to their products.

I can't really add much more than what Floppy Jim said..... As an owner of the PS3 I would say it's well worth the initial investment.

1st: Theres all this talk abt PS3's havin untapped potential... Is this true??? and wat do they mean???

2nd:PSN cards.... can i use a debit card instead? (maybe i missed the part abt this one but, help a guy out ya?? =) )

3rd:Blu-ray for games.... So?

4th:How long is sony committed to the ps3?? (Like they promised for the PS2's which was ten years) I'm kinda afraid that if i get this they're gna release sum other console or whatever.... 1) The PS3 has 8 cores (even PCs don't have more than 3 cores, though some stations have more), so it's a new way of programming and making the cores interact at the same time, only Heavenly sword used 3 cores (one for nariko movement, one for her hair movement and another for the enemy movement)

Of course the programmers use a PC for the programming and it's hard for them to simulate the 8 cores.

2) Most people today use a credit card for the PSN, it's very very hard to find the PSN cards (only Japan, heard some US army have some), only debit card i'm not sure if it works

3) For sure Resistance 1 and 2, used about 30Gig mainly using it as the data didn't have to de-compress to make things more natural and fast

4) the life cycle has been announced as 10 years, but it can change if Microcrap or Nintennerd releases another concole soon

1)Like jim said it is a powerful machine and it can do amazing things, but I highly suggest you too not get hung up on this untapped potential thing just enjoy what comes out. 2)If you live in the US there are a lot of stores that have them but mainly big name stores(Walmart,Blockbuster,Best Buy) they have a list of it online but you could go ahead and use your debit. 3)Blu ray can hold up too 50 gigs of data thing is only MGS4 is the only game that actually uses blu-ray too its full extent, but outside of that most games don't really even past the 20 gig mark at least too my knowledge. 4)Like everyone else said they plan on supporting it for 10 years.

I wouldn't worry about the 10 year support issue. Look at PS2, they are still coming out with new games and selling systems etc.
