PS3 Recommendations

I'm getting $1000 soon, and I want some of it going towards buying a PS3 and getting some games. But, I really have no idea what games the PS3 have to offer. I'm planning to get Resistance and Lair, but what other good PS3 games are out there? I'm mainly into shooters, so if someone could recommend some good ones, that would be great.

I have Resistance,Motorstorm,R6Vegas and F1 Champion edition

Do not buy Lair.

Hold on to your cash for the holiday season. Just start off with Resistance and/or The Darkness. SCEA got some very first party games coming out in the coming months, and despite my anger of the lack of good PS3 games, I'm very excited for these games.

Warhawk and Ratchet and Clank look good, but Heavenly Sword just doesn't look interesting. I already have Oblivion for the PC.

wtf are you talking about? This isn't PS2 vs XBOX anymore, there are a ton of shooters coming out.

ex. Haze, Army of Two, Rainbow6, Resistance, Condemned 2, The Darkness, FEAR, UT3, Killzone 2, etc.)

Resistance and The Darkness are the best shooters, imo. Skip Rainbow Six Vegas. Just doesn't look really good on the PS3. Non-shooters: Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Oblivion, and Motorstorm. Oh.....and don't forget Warhawk coming out this month and Heavenly Sword coming out next month.

Well since you said shooters i can suggest 2 off of the top of my head. R6V is an excellent tactical game and Rfom which is a great sci fi run and gun shooter.

Theres going to be alot of titles comming this holiday season, but those are some i can recommend.
