I had my PlayStation 3 for just over a year. I usually plug it into a HDTV normally and use the hdmi port. I tried using it with a older TV and had to use the scart lead, To my annoyance I found i couldn't get it display any kind of image or sound. Using the hdmi lead still works. I welcome any advice about this?

Usually your system should just detect the change of video and sound input. The only thing you can do is Plug it back into the tv you normally use or try using component or the basic av cables.

You have to hook it back up to the HDTV with the HDMI and then change the output settings manually. The PS3 can't figure out when you change back to another cable besides HDMI.

Once it's hooked up to the std. TV, just hold down the power button for 5 seconds, and the system will turn on, automatically scaling to the resolution you desire.
