Ps3 sales improved..AMAZING!

well here it is people the ps3 finally is going back on track even better than it was expected.

before anything said im not dissing 360 or whatever im just looking at the ps3.

another thing at this moment the PS3 has sold 10million consoles so far within 1 years time.. now i just want to point out that its great because Microsoft had sold 11.6 million Xbox 360 machines in two years. and the ps3 is 1 million consoles of and its on its first year....

2nd. this is just the begining in the end of 2008 ps3 will be on fir..the games that will come out will boost its sales by far, now i know some people dont like the ps3 because there is hardly any games but if you think about it this happend as well when the xbox first came out it had such few games and people prefered the ps2 later on the xbox was the big hit, but now the xbox hardly sells they stopped making it. if you think about it this could also happen with the 360.

not to mention HOME it will attract so much people and also playTV.

3rd. the ps3 sold 1.2million JUST in europe last christmas..thats just amazing. if the ps3 keeps selling thousands ever week (which is what they are doing now) if they keep it up. it is expected to hit 20+million at the end of this year

another great thing that the ps3 prices are going to drop to $350 great price which will boost teh ps3 numbers by farrrrrrr!

also warner bros might be going blu-ray which will help the blu-ray and making more dvds so it will also help increase the number of ps3

ps3 will go change its colours making it more ideal to anyones home..still might not boost the sales but still could help.

and Sony will finally allow PS3 fans to download movies from the PS Store later this year. However, just like Xbox Live, the movies available will be rentals only and will require the PS3 to be signed into the PSN for playback. Sony won't want to cannibalize its own Blu-ray sales with fully downloadable movies. At the very least, Remote Play will be enhanced so that you will be able to stream these movies to the PSP.

the ps3 prices will get much better in 2008 but maybe not as good as te 360's in 2008. although it is very much expected to beat anything in 2009. the 360 by the end of this year is expected to reach 19-20mil while the ps3 could get to 18mil. also they will be discounting the 60,20 and 80gb(?) and could possible make 120gb and 160gb consoles which will really help the sales.

Not alot of people are around at this time...

But yeah its good news for Sony, the future line up is solid and should really get more people interested, its just ashame alot of those high profile titles are so far off, the PS3 isreally suffering from those delays.

Sony should do a better job marketing the PS3 and making people remember that it exists. Especially this year when a lot of potentially good games will be released for the console.

Anyway, I have no doubt that the PS3 will survive this console war.

PS: I am not saying that GAMESPOT is BI**** towards the PS3 but, in their latest poll saying "Not even MGS4 can save the PS3" was pretty stupid and retarded on whoever wrote and aproved that comment. Here's Why, No one game can ever make or break a console. I have seen that commercial you are speaking off, It was aired on European television channels during christmas (I live in Europe so I cant really speak about the marketing in America). I still feel that Sony needs to make people aware of the existience of their console and their line up of games. They should do heavy marketing when MGS4 and Home is released. There are probaly an abundance of potential PS3 buyers out there. Sony need to reach out to more people then just the folks surfing different gaming sites like for example Gamespot.
When all the great titles are released, Sony will sell more consoles. But they should exploit their line up and exercise some heavy marketing so that they may sell more, right? :)

Actually GS called the PS3 the "BS3," which was a little uncalled for. I mean, it was just a poll, but whatever.

ps3 versions of dmc hav gotten a preorder (outside of japan) of 140k copies while the 360 has 30k copies

I have an odd assortment of gaming friend myself, and they rarely listen to me about the PS3.

I have dwindled thier weak arguments down to "PS3 has no good games."

Then I mention the big ones, FF13, Versus 13, MGS (which spawns another debate on wheter or not that will be just PS3 or multi platform), Probably have an exclusive on the next God of War, etc.

Then I get silence. The PS3 was hated on for some reason, and I really don't know why.

I own an 80GB and after all the systems I've owned, this is my favorite. I also like the blue ray player, not needing batteries for my wireless controllers, and the ability to play games all the way back to PS1.

I don't see how these silly people can't get that through thier heads.

I haven't jumped into this gen yet, but I was getting ready to buy a 360 because I don't care for the PS3's lineup. But with all the system failures, and the fact that MS has set the pace for such a short console life, I'm going to get a PS3 in the future. Sony's lineup looks great for the next two years, far better than the 360s. So, if Sony delivers on the likes of GoW and GT, and Blu Ray keeps gaining users, PS3 will spike in sales this year. I was a HUGE detractor of the system, but I think the future really looks bright for the PS3. I'd rather have a slow starting Sony machine than buy a new Xbox every 3 years. Jez, the PS2 out lasted the original Xbox by almost 3 years! Corvidae

Huh? do you think I personally held an opinion like that? I have never had a problem with the line up of games for the PS3. But a lot of fanboys from the other consoles use the argument I mentioned.
My point was that those fanboys soon pretty much will be forced to give up on that argument.

Yeah i spoke about this around when Lair got launched kinda...when "major" titles come out on Sony console Sony needs to "50/50" with these 3rd party devs and make commercials just advertising THAT SINGLE TITLE to focus would be buyers of how great it is instead of a compilation of short clips.

I think this is where MS has Sony beat, they have both forms of commercials (compilations of what 360 has to offer as well as singular titles ads like Gears, H3, GRAW ect.) while Wii actually shows ppl lookin like nerds playing with the remotes "denoting" you will have fun playing this with friends even if ya can't see the stupid game!

All marketing i tell ya, i swear most if not all of Sony sales thus far have been due to hardcore crowds such as those that visit sites like GS and get schooled on what PS3 can do. Those commercials don't even mention PS3's Blu-ray movie playback or its other features that would potentially sell alot of customers.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more it looks like a good move. Sony wasn't kidding when they said the PS3 was designed for the long-haul. I can see the PS3 slamming the Xbox 512!

But I won't buy one now. Besides the fact that I have a few PS2 games to get to (GoW 2, FFXII), the currently lineup doesn't make me want to run to the store and grab one. Sure,Uncharted and Warhawk look decent, but I think the titles of 08 and 09 will blow them out of the water. And I don't mean to offend, as this is a PS3 forum, but I need to get a Wii first just for Super Mario Galaxy! I think it's be PS3 Christmas for me this year.

i lvie in new zealand i see blue ray commercials all the time and ps3 ones but NEVER 360s only when it came out for teh frist few weeks

I guess people want a decent blu ray player with God like gaming hardware. I bought the ps3 originally because I needed a blu ray player for my new sony 46 inch bravia.
