[QUOTE="Nike_Air"]I am going to go with about 50 million after 5 years.
Radiozo
Sounds more reasonable
How many did PS2 have? I would say PS3 slightly will outsell that.

Doubtful PS3 will outsell PS2. I think PS2 has sold something like 125 million units...[QUOTE="vegetattack15"][QUOTE="Radiozo"][QUOTE="Nike_Air"]I am going to go with about 50 million after 5 years.

Doubtful PS3 will outsell PS2. I think PS2 has sold something like 125 million units...More and more people are being born into the world, and more and more are getting into video games. Also people want the best media. Which is Blue-Ray.
the 360 and Wii are much better competition to the PS3 than the Xbox and Gamecube were to the PS2. competition from the Xbox and Gamecube were pretty much non-existant.
Blu Ray will definitely help sales though... although i think that the mass public will get into Blu Ray late in the PS3's lifespan. Blu Ray still needs to fully take down HD DVD (not just in sales... but for movie studios to completely abandon the format), and then have the average household to have HDTVs.
that is a pretty extreme attach rate. i think in Japan with the DS... Nintendo is still aiming to hit 10% of the population.c0mplex
The PS2 did about 33% (if you round the numbers to nice even ones like 100 million and 300 million Americans) and the Wii is by far more popular with people who don't care for video games.
did the PS2 sell 100 million units in America alone? i thought that was a world wide figure.c0mplex
i was gonna ask that, they sold 120 million worldwide, not in America alone
[QUOTE="c0mplex"]wrong. it is going to see around 6 billion, since there are 6 billion people in this world. :twisted:amourkiss
I think you mean 60 billion
you know China alone takes up 10 billion
so, I expect PS3 to have sold 10 billion (1000 million)at its cycle end
Wrong!! there are 6 billion people in the world 1 billion live in China. There would be serious problems if there were 60 billion people in the world.

6,602,224,175I'd like to see the xbox taste 100 million units. Then we'd see some real competiion and benefit from the fruits.grathan
Why would you want 100 million people to buy a thrown-together beast that is guaranteed to die on them? That's kind of mean :P
The competition is just fine now. Try and find a majority to agree that Sony will score a three-peat. It won't happen.

6 billion in the world. China accounts for about 1.3.
1000 million is 1 billion, not 10 billion.
Remedial math ftw.
