Hello, I have a simple question: I use a Samsung 305T+ monitor and Im going to buy a PS3 console. I would like connect the PS3 directly to the monitor, with a HDMI --> DVI converter because 305T+ doesnt have HDMI input. Unfortunately i have no exact information about this combo, and Im not sure my monitor support HDCP or not. So please help, i hope somebody know the answare for my question, which is : Is this "PS3 -> HDMI/DVI converter -> Samsung 305T+" config work or not? Thank you guys!

Just get and HDMI to DVI cable, no need for a converter. Just make sure that there is no gap between the pins on the DVI end. Gap = analog DVI. No Gap = Digital.

Okay, Im just confused because someone told me Samsung 305T+ doesnt support HDCP so i cant watch BR movies etc on my screen. Is this cable good for me? (i dont know the gold color is better then normal? ): http://www.hdmishop.hu/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/b47d41dfd1f5b5d7321c131c335ad7b5.jpg If they pack HDMI cable into PS3 box then this enough for me (I guess): http://www.hdmishop.hu/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/f8a36b9d7813597f16d3bce4dcc62777.jpg

Okay, and whats the difference between "HDMI -> single DVI-D" and "HDMI -> Dual Link DVI-D" cables? I know hows they look like, i would like know the technical differences. Can I use my games in fullHD 1080p mode with this cables? :\

Lol you massively overpayed for your cable. Here is the inexpensive Monoprice alternative.

This is a HDMI --> Single Link DVI-D cable. Is this good for FullHD 1080p ? I just ask because i read somewhere SingleLink DVI-D max resolution is lower then FullHD 1920 x 1080.

okay thanks. And what about the audio? Because HDMI is audio&video but DVI.-D and my monitor is only handle video. So what is the easiest way to connect PS3 audio to my headphone, or to my sound system?

If your surround sound system has an optical input then you can just use one of those to connect your PS3 to the system. Monoprice has optical cables too.

i didn't buy it from there.. i just googled dvi-d to hdmi and clicked on the first link.. to show what cable he needed.. i don't expect him to order it from best buy or wherever the link took him..

I think this cable isnt good for me, because my monitor need Dual Link DVI-D. My plan: I buy 2x HDMI - HDMI cable , and 1x HDMI - DL DVI-D cable, 1x HDMI Switcher, I link the PS3 and my PC VGA to the Switcher using HDMI - HDMI cables, and the Switcher output will be the HDMI - DL DVI-D cable to my monitor. I can choose with remote control betwwen PC and PS3 sources. ANd because I have a 30" monitor which res. is 2560 x 1600 , i have to use DL DVI, because Single Link (like your link) isnt support this high res.

Okay i bought the PS3 and connect to my monitor with this : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8701096&type=product&id=1199495204492 And BUMM not working. My monitor blinking like when no cable connected. If i reconnect to my PC its work fine. I use this type cable between PC and Monitor : http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/images/products/8988/8988508_sa.jpg I think i should buy a HDMI - Dual Link DVI-D cable not a sige link. Maybe its not enough for my monitor. Thoughts?

does your audio receiver have a HDMI in and HDMI out? if yes, plug your first HDMI cable from the PS3 to the audio receiver HDMI in, then the HDMI / DVi from the audio receiver HDMI out to the monitor ; you'll have to have the audio receiver on to get the image on the monitor as the video signal will get through it
