Neither the PS3 nor the 360 are capable of running Crysis in its present form. It would have to be undergo a lot of changes and downgrades before it would run on either console.Jared2720Yep neither consoles will play it untill its had some major work done so it can play

^Agreed. It just wouldn't be worth it. They would have to water it down. I mean I'm playing games on my PS3 at 720p(equivalent to 1280x768 on pc) and sometimes the framrate would get bogged down. A mid-high range PC can push this resolution easily. This is why I'm a PC/PS3 gamer. PC for RTS & FPS. PS3 for games like MGS4, RE5, gran turismo & FF13. I wish I had all systems but I have limited funds.

haha im exactly like you
but i think battle field bad company may actually be comparable to crysis running on high
fyi crysis also has a very high settng that reduces myfps to a choppy pos

haha me too
there is no way a console could handle the physics calculations and map size present in Crysis. the draw distance in Crysis is absolutely massive, those mountains in the background arnt 2-D backdrops, they are actual land masses. even the clouds in the sky are volumetric, not 2-D images.
considering the game cannot max out on any current PC hardware, consoles dont stand a chance. not without severely chopping and changing the game, therefore ruining it to a point where it isnt even Crysis anyway.
after seeing Uncharted, i have a lot of faith in the PS3's capabilities. but Crysis was only ever designed for high end PC hardware. and before you say "well, what about Far Cry?" let us remember that the console versions of Far Cry were not developed by Crytek.
EDIT: im a third to agree with you 100% Accord100. thats exactly how i game, only with the RTS since i suck at those. FPS for PC, action/adventure in the third person and racing/driving on my PS3.
without its amazing high end graphics, crysis is just a really average FPS. i don't care if we get it.americahellyeah
Well, if by average you mean not introducing anything new, then technically COD4 takes the cake of mediocrity. COD4 is basically the same as COD3 but in a modern setting and with modern weapons. In some sense, COD4 feels like a mod of COD3. It even looks like they both run on the same engine. Crysis far more revolutionary than COD4. You can practically go anywhere in the map, apply any method of completing your objective, and you have speed, strength, heavy armour and invisibility modes to choose. You can even hand grab your enemies and throw them around. The trees and shacks are destructible.
What does COD4 have? apart from having to go where the game tells you to go and shooting your way through. Heck even the sniping mission is dictated. You were meant to blow off that jerk's hand no matter what. Where's the flexibility and diversity? Most pople who claim Crysis to be average either have not played it, or do not have a powerful enough pc to enjoy it.
I think even if they had to cut down Crysis it would still look pretty amazing on the ps3. The game is just excellent from what I played of it. Its not just a shooter in the way it handels, the options it gives you on how to complete the objectives and just how badass it is makes it a first rade game.

thats exactly right IMO. but i rekon the main reason most people dont rate Crysis so high, is the reasons you mentioned, havnt played it/cant run it..and also coz the story, while being awesome, wasnt you know, anything new and mindblowing and epic. Crysis didnt start a story driven revolution like, say, Half Life did, but its created a graphical revolution, doing things no game has ever done before. games have tried, but they dont come close. once you see Crysis with all V.high settings in DX10 with 2xAA, you will understand.
EDIT: right not write haha ;)
well the heart and soul of cod4 is the multiplayer and the perk system is actually very inventive. Dont really get prestige mode though. Just something to feed your ego I guess. And umm no u dont always shoot the dudes hand off in the sniper mission. And the devs made the SP linear on purpose. When did the devs say this game was gonna be sandboxish? When did u ever play a COD game that was not linear in the SP? How could u actually expect COD4 to be any different? BTWif the game had adaptive AI as hard asthe SP getsin certain parts on hardcore and veteran? shhhhh*t. God bless.
As for Crysis yes to date no rig can play that game at all settings maxed without it being an extremly pretty slideshow. A console would have no chance of running Crysis if u wanted to keep all the elements in there. The suit powers...meh. Kinda though they would have been a way to upgrade yur suit's powers so all or atleast half of the suit powers would last longer. I mean its nice in the beginning but after a while u like...errr...ok. This is it? I maybe wrong as I havent finished the game yet but im kinda deep in the game. And if I havent received one upgrade yet im losing hope for any later on. Story is good. I like it. Dont know why alotta people knock it. It is pretty but honestly expected better in regards to gameplay. Meh.
But crysis on console...eh..iit would sell but would be like how Fear was ported to console. Once u played it on pc why play it on console?
I've played Crysis on near max settings (not my computer) and, yes, it looks amazing. However, I've also seen the HD gameplay footage of KZ2 and FFXIII, and I think both look better (I realize FF is a completely different type of artistic style). The reason Crysis wouldn't work on the PS3 or the 360 is because it wasn't made to work for them. If the game was redone from the ground up, which won't happen, it could be maximized for console efficiency to look pretty much just as good as the PC version, with slightly lower resolution possible (although 1920x1080 is pretty damn good).
Also, someone said that the ps3 couldn't handle the physics of Crysis. Well, just fyi, the cell is far more powerful than any processor available in most computers now. The physics in KZ2 are more advanced than Crysis, as well, from the info we've been told, a good bit more so. However, the cell is also very different and would require a reworking of the physics, which is why the AI and such in a lot of ps3 ports from the 360 is not as good, but in exclusives it's near perfect.
well there's an article in psu.com that states that by using StreamMyGames.com you are able to play Crysis on your ps3 and other PC tiltles.Molotovrock
You still have to have a PC that can handle the game, however.

Actually, I remember someone posting something that at CryTek...err whatever they were looking for someone who was experienced in PS3 programming er Blu Ray...don't really remember, so maybe they could put it on the ps3...but yes of course a whole lot worse in the graphics dept.

Crysis isn't the only game they're going to make though. I think they could make the game look similar, if not exact, but they'd have to do some savvy programming to get around the DX10 thing.
