Your PS3 is most probably overheating. Turn it off and don't play it for an hour or so (or maybe longer) and try it then. If that doesn't work, then your PS3 is most probably broken and I would suggest bringing it to someone who can fix gaming consoles.

thats what mine did before it got the ylod.

id recommend backing up any saves you care about, just to be safe

like the other guy said its an overheating issue, and unless you keep ur ps3 covered by a blanket its probably an internal issue thats beyound ur expertise (i assume, since u wouldnt be here asking if u were).  overheating might as well be the ps3's death knoll

mine had a good run tho. i guess it could be a one time thing, but take precautions so ur not screwed incase it does die

Is the game on bluray or is it downloaded? My phat PS3 does the same thing with certain downloaded games, particularly large GB games like TLOU.

ONLY in Black Ops 2? What other games do you play on your PS3? It may be that Black Ops 2 is the most demanding game you play on your console (which shouldn't be an issue but with the console overheating it could alter the console's flexibility with demanding games) so

CLEAN your MACHINE. That's an over-heat.

:)

Using a VACUUM, put the nozzle on the air vents, and every other aperture you can find, to suck the dust back out of the machine from whence it came... I say use a vacuum, because compressed air will simply blow a lot of dust, pet hair, your hair, etc., further into the machine.

The other thing I always advise, is to prop your machine up on a set of game cases or other spacers which will allow maximum airflow under the console (as that is where the heat syncs are located). If you allow airflow under the unit - Think making a little "tunnel" under it with as much surface area of the console's bottom as possible exposed to free airflow, so cases/spacers out to the edges as much as possible whilst still remaining stable - It will stay cooler in-general.

If you play a lot, you should be using a vacuum on your machine once per month, depending on factors like pets, and general cleanliness of your gaming area.

Hiope this helps!

:)
