My 360 has yet to do that. :?360 gets blazing hot, so does my pc video card, etc etc. These new consoles/cards get REALLY hot and they are designed to take this kinda heat. You are fine. Do you think the R&D only tested these in rooms at 48°F? Enjoy your console dude.

It doesn't get THAT hot, you know what I mean. All the machines kick out some serious heat compared to anything last gen. Its not like my 360 lit my entertainment center on fire or anything, lol. To be honest, my 360 runs about as hot as my PS3...so not bad at all.

LOL I know you didn't mean it was close to catching something on fire, haha.As long as a console is in an open, well-ventilated area, (Like both my PS3 and 360 are) there shouldn't be any overheating problems. :D
[QUOTE="wildoneace"]my bulk PS3 gets hot in no time 30min to an hour and the heat coming from it really bugs me because i can't play any game long enough to enjoy it.emitsu97Heat is supposed to come out. Is your PS3 shutting down on you? If it's not, you're fine.
this...yeah would u rather all that heat stay in there or leave???
I know the PS2 slim didn't have a fan and it caused a few problems. Some people complained the pads became burning hot. But i'm sure Sony have dealt with things like that regarding the PS3 slim, so I doubt it's a problem. Honestly, it seems more likely that the original ps3 would break down more often, theres been so many reports of problems with the Blu Ray failing to read!

Well the failure rate of the 360 seems to say otherwise... I've had a couple of graphics cards with crappy stock coolers slowly rise in temperture(though not insanely hot) until they finally gave out one day even though they were running perfectly fine up till their death. Too much heat will degrade any hardware over time. Though I'm sure the consoles can take a beating, I always play it safe and make sure they are extremely well ventilated.
