Hi

I really feel like i've skipped sony so far in this generation, after owning ps1, ps2 and ps2 slim (and a psp but that is another story).

however i've yet to buy a ps3, reasons... plenty, got a xbox 360 and a gaming pc with a GTX 285 so i am well coverd by games. but with the slim at $299 (2700 NOK) its suddenly becoming worth it just to play trough MGS4, and alot of other sony games i've grown to love over the years.

but i want to get psyked for christmas, I really want to want this, in the way that you cant wait for christmas, currently i do not, i need to know about the perks of owning a ps3. how it is compared to x360 isnt all that important.

But what is your favorite feature of the ps3? games currently on the wish list

MGS4

Uncharted 2

and that new ratchet and clank game.

is there some must have game im missing? LBP, is a no....

ps3 is diffrent than the other consoles,it plays blu-ray, free online, life with playstation ( for checking weather and fold at home), there is home which is a really intersting feature where you can chat with friends and other people, check free eisodes etc and the games ah the games are just amazing on ps3 you shouldnt miss games like MGS4, uncharted, ratchet and clank, wkc, ff13 and many more, you said it yourself, you miss the ps family so join them, its now cheap, get its exclusives and enjoy the its very worth it and im one of the early owners of the system

It really comes down to if you would like it for it's games and/or Bluray HD movie playing. It also allows you to have as many online accounts for all in your home to have their own for auto game saves and trophies for free. In my home that's 6 accounts which would cost $50 X 6 per year.

this some of the stuff i THINK i've figured out =) 1) PSN allows PSone originals that can be used on both PS3 and PSP, but does it have ps2 games as well? 2) playstation home 3) life with playstation. stuff i have no clue about, and that have bothered me about the x360 1) possibility of storing your own video content on the ps3s harddrive 2) what can i do with the remote play feature, and how picky is it with what firmware the psp runs on?

1) No, the new PS3's don't support PS2 games, so they don't put them on the PSN. 2 & 3) What about them? 1) Yes you can put your own videos on the PS3 hard drive. 2) I'm not sure about the firmware, but you can turn on your PS3, play your music, videos, photos, and a few games from anywhere as long as both consoles are connected to the internet. 3) What do you mean by PS3 games on demand? There are some full games on the PSN, such as Burnout, Socom, GT5P, and Warhawk, if that's what you mean.

Blu-ray is a definite plus to owning the console, I love the blu ray player on my hdtv, just amazing. There are numerous exclusives that are alone worth purchasing the console. I think MGS4, Uncharted, Demon's Souls, and God of War III (soon to be released) are enough reason to own a PS3. I'm not a fan of the slim's design but oh well, it's a great console. Plus, I believe the PS3 uses laptop hard drives so you can easily upgrade it to whatever size you like.

Being a PC gamer like you, the only difference being that the PS3 is the first console I'll own ever, I find the PS3, despite its higher price tag to be more bang for the buck. For one thing, it doubles as a Blu-Ray player. Another is the exclusives as I find most games that include 360 also come out for PC anyways. There are a ton of PS3 only games, such as MGS4, Uncharted 1 and 2, Demon's Souls, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Killzone 2, and Resistance 1 and 2. There are also a few multiplatform titles which are not on PC such as Condemned 2, FF13 and Marvel UA 2 so I guess you can either use 360 or PS3 for that. I think you should definitely get it, mine arrives on Tuesday! =D

yeah, the phat one looks a bit better, but its been discontinued and i dont see my self buying a second hand one... when there is a 250GB version thats that is as cheap as it now the exclusive games is deffie one of my main reason, MGS4 alone made me almost buy the phat one, really big MGS fan, i even got a hold of the mgs1 special missions disc =)

MASSIVE GIFT OVERLOAD! Oh yea another good thing is FREE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER! With 360, you gotta pay "fees," unless you have Games for Windows LIVE, thank god that became free or I never would've played Gears of War PC online!
