Ps3 slim Freezing issues :/

Hello, i've now had my ps3 slim for a good month and i've been liking it but it seems that it likes to crash or freeze quite alot. for example il exit out of play tv straight to a game so i be on play tv press ps button go to game it would freez e with jus the waves moving in the background. Tonight i'd been downstairs and the ps3 had turned its self on probs for play tv and so i came up and checked and it was frozen on the wave screen and nothing else so i turned it on off on off and the same old. Note i started using my ps3 slim with the 320gb hdd which i was using in the ps3 fat for a whole until that broke with ylod many times lol. so i beliefe there shouldnb't be a problme with the 320 gb as ive used it a year lol so i swapped to the 120gb which came with the slim and now it works finee.

so any suggestions, thoughts :)

Wait, so after switching back to the 120g drive that it came with it works fine again? Then what is your question exactly, because you've already found the problem.

Well if it freezes alot with the old 320gb but doesn't when you switch back to the 120gb, obviously it's that 320gb drive that's doing it. I don't know what else to tell you.

format the 320gb. might solve the prob

I dont quite understand why you're laughing all the time, but I think your problem is quite obvious. You said your old PS3 had lots of problems with that hard drive, and the slim does too. You also stated that the problems are gone when you put in the hd that came with the slim, so you should backup your data and use that one. Not sure why you're posting this...

so do you think after that year of having it in the fat and then these 20 days of it being in slim has suddenly caused it to be faulty by being slow, delayed etc

I don't know, but if you format your hard drive and the problem persists, your hard drive is no good.

Try updating to 3.01 becuase I was just playing Uncharted and it kept freezing now it works fine.

Maybe your drive is what caused the YLOD in the first place, since they always tell you to try removing your hard drive when you get YLOD. Anyway, try seeing if it freezes when you access your 320 GB HDD with a USB cable. If that works then you can store certain things, like movies, on the big drive and essential stuff, like game saves and installs, on the original drive.

But i havn't got the internet. The thing is, is that i think the PS3 Slim can get a virus. Is that true?

Try This:

Reformat your 320 HDD. Because the Slim is a highly redesigned unit in terms of architecture the HDD may have problems recognizing certain elements of the console. People will say this shouldn't happen; I completely agree with that statement.

If reformatting is not an option, stop complaining to the people in a forum and call the guys who actually build the thing. Sony.

Call Sony and ask them, it's probably faster and easier then asking the same "why is does 320 work on fat not slim" over the forums for 2 weeks.

I apologize if this was already suggested or if the issue had been sufficiently been resolved; I skipped a lot of the junk that was posted.
