Sorry if someone already posted this. Both Sears and K-Mart are offering presales on the PS3 Slim. Looks legit enough for me...

Might be a little unrealistic, but who knows? I just hope Sony announces backward compatibility... I am perfectly happy with my PS3 fat. :D

So, what...now millions of ps3 owners trade in their fat PS3's for a slim model? I mean, none of this price drop or redesign should affect any body here. New owners will be getting a cheaper built PS3 for $299.00. Lets hope the quality remains. Even if you are in the market for a new PS3, you should probably wait a bit to see how this Slim model is holding up.

I can't imagine this to be legit if they're the ONLY store to have a pre-order sale? Doesn't make sense, esp. if the release is 6 days away??? 6 days away and no hoopla about it? I'm thinking bogus on this one...

Most likely an error I think. Still, as far as I'm concerned, its as good as confirmed...

Does it have the same capabilities as the 80GB out right now? Because thats what I have and I love it...my only beef is the lack of BC. So if the slim is the same PS3 but has BC I will get it.

The apparent specs are here. It's supposed to have either 120gb or 250gb options.

Well forget that then.

But if it's going to be released on the 24th of August--6 days away, don't you guys think there would of been some kind of advertising for this major change? I think there will be a slim PS3, but I don't believe it's going to be next week. Major companies aren't known for their tight lips, and I can't imagine Sony not announcing something this big and advertising it IF it's being released next week. Hey, if I'm wrong, that's great for those thinking of getting a PS3.
