Hey guys, how are you!! um just really a quick question ive not had a ps3 slim for all that long, ive noticed they changed the standby thing.

like old ps3 had a switch at back to enabled standby mode, but the slim just has no off button, i tend to turn my mains off every night due to obvious reasons, but ive heard if you turn the mains off every time you turn the ps3 off it can potentail damage the console cause its on constant standby, even though theres no off switch to turn standby off, is this right? stupid design if you ask me .

But what do you guys do, always have your mains on,or do youturn the mains off after use like myself?

Hello 'Halonewps3owner',how are you doing today?.I'm glad to inform you that your PS3 is not under terrorist attack from leaving it on standby except mayb your power is faulty and can potentially damage the power pack.I have had mine on standby for a long time now and it still is and no fault whatever so Enjoy :D

that is false, the switch in the back of the phat ps3s are not harmful or dangerous at all. all those ppl who say it was are either trolls, or just talkin out of their behind. its like driving home after a long day at work and i go hey i shouldnt turn the car off cuz it will cause problems. let me just leave it the way it is. i mean come on do u honestly think sony would add a feature or a button that turns of a system/electronic just to cause problems or be harmful. i have a launch 06 60gb ps3 and launch 09 120gb slim.....i always and i repeat always have for the past 4 years used the back switch on my 60gb and no problem at all. the slim unless i go out for a day or 2 and i aint coming home, i just unplug it from the back. but if im just takin a quick break or wat not ill leave it on standby. and the reason why the slim doesnt have it cuz it barely uses any electricity/power like the phat ones did. but its normal and ok to leave it on standby. its also OK to unplug the wire from the back if ur going to sleep or work or whatever it is ur going to do.

Haha im gonna have to change my avatar soon, atleast people will remember me here, for the wrong reasons of course lol, and im glad to here both of your guys comments.

As you can tell i always switch my ps3 off at the mains after a proper shut down rather then leave on standby, so im glad to hear what im doing is not effectingthe hardware itself, and yeah damn trolls, he goes never turn it off at the mains, always leave it on standby or else it will cause it to an early grave, please confirm thats rubbish lol
