quick question: just bought a panasonic 42 plasma p42s1 (dont know if its relevant). are the AV cables that come with the ps3 slim 480 or 720? thanks p.s. i have hdmi cables so dont worry, im just trying to do something with the tv that needs a 480i or 480p SD source

are there 3 or 5 wires to plug in?

its 3. i just checked the manual its says the max output is 480i with the av cables so i guess that answers my question. my tv wont up convert it to 720 tho will it? i think i know the answer to that question too haha

probably not. whatre you trying to do that you cant just use hdmi??

im just calibrating my tv and one of the steps needs a 480i or 480p SD input to change some of the settings

If you want to do 720p which most games are at, you'll need to buy Component Cables :).

thats odd...i would think youd be fine, provided its at least that...maybe not tho

its the av cables but dude just get a hdmi cable and hook it up like that its so much better

Yeah I just got mine not too long ago its just the regular old 3 cord standard def cables. I was a little heated when I opened her up i thought they would at least have component, but like a PP stated i went out and got an HDMI cable.

thanks guys i already have the hdmi cable as i said. if you read my topic all the way you will see i wanted to know if the av cables were 480 for something different i need to do
