PS3 Slimline News

We have all read the rumors by now not to mention images. Some may not be real but I think its safe to say the Slim is well on its way and there's plenty out there to back this up.

Some of you will know Sony is trying cut down sales of ps3 console in Japan. This means less components and shells will be manufactured and constructed. Yet reports show Sony is infact manufacturing many more components which points to gearing up for something big. However this doesn't necessarily mean that they are, it could be preparation for a price cut as they would expect more sales in that scenario. This article suggests that the Playstation 3 Slim would have a short life if it is to come out due to new blu-ray 3D technology predicted to be ready some time in 2010. This could mean the Slim will be in development until this technology is ready for it or that perhaps it will in fact be short lived. So that's both good and bad news. My next example is the all famous Best Buy marketing mock-up. Real or fake it seems legit despite a few key issues like game pricing however its only a mock-up so we have to give it that. Something small that bugs me is the "new low price" label above the image of the console. Its not a new price it's a new product. I hope the real one looks nicer, too; then again, the new look of the PSP Go slipped out well before its official announcement, and I remember people thinking it was ugly and fake, too, but it was spot on.

How about we wait until we hear something OFFICIAL from SONY themselves. All these rumors and "leaked" bits of information drive me nuts. Potentially we'll be all hyped up for nothing. Even if the current info and images turns out to be true, I'll be disappointed. That thing looks hideous.

German gamestore Saturn now sells a PS3 80GB + a PSP for €399.

I believe this is to get rid of fat PS3's stock indeed.

Those pictures are low quality... I believe they're fake. Anyway Sony can't make the Slim without removing some of the major hardware advantages the ps3 had such as Hi-Fi.MacenKrace

In the UK at a store called ASDA they now sell a PS3 80GB with Terminator game and movie + Infamous or Ghostbusters for 250£.
That's about €290 which is also a good deal I guess.
