I've heared a rumor on the net that the ps3 will soon support 2 different 1080p outputs by using the HDMI and component cabels and two HDTVs.

imagine that there's no need for splitting the screen when you're playing local multiplayer.

playing two games at once maybe.

it's possible isn't it??

no man, it would take a ****load of prossecing power, more than the cell can accomplish. You would need two cells, twice+ ram, since games like motorstorm cant be played in split screen, let alone 2.

Well originally the PS3 was supposed to have two HDMI ports for that very purpose... outputting HD resolution images onto two screens. As far as I know they scrapped that due to cost, so theoretically it could be possible.

I doubt it, however.

you're right that would take alot of processing power but still if you consider playing 2 light games, i think the ps3 can do it.

i saw a picture of the ps3 as a prototype and it had 2 HDMI outputs, i think sony had this in mind from the begining.

it's possible that it could be used mainly for doing simpler tasks like watching a movie on one, and doing other sub-main menu stuff like looking at pictures and the internet and chatting. that would be really nice.

Man, that's one hell of a crazy idea.

In theory, it should work. But, there's some way Sony may have locked that 'feature' down.

LOL, for that feature SONY'd have to spens so much more, make the PS3 fatter so they can double the processors, ram, graphics card and all that to do it. Either way, let's just wait and see what SONY has to say.
