This is where you plug in all your speakers and wires from your TV. If you do it the usual way, you just plug all your PS3 cables into the TV (except audio optical, depending on what TV you have) and then plug the cables going from the TV into the reciever.
I don't really know what most of them are called, but they're red and white.
I go HDMI from PS3 to Reciever and then HDMI from the receiver to TV I have xbox .. satellite ps3 and PC all using HDMI so i bought a receiver that will do it all.
Well, my PS3 to TV is a HDMI cable. PS3 to Surround Sound receiver is with an Optical Digital Cable (I think thats what its called) Aside from the TV/Surround sound/PS3 all you need are the cables.

yeah, Ghoul is right here, just run an optical cable to the reciever box of the sound system, and then a hdmi to the tv. Then, on the PS3's XMB, you configure it so audio goes out the optical and video goes through the HDMI
