Hi all. First time to post on GameSpot so woohoo :). Unfortunately, not starting on a positive note :(. Anyway, as the subject says, I'm a little concerned about my PS3. When I first got it, about a month ago now, it seemed to shut down quicker than now. It may be paranoia because I'm looking for something wrong as one time, when I was turning it off, the green light kept flashing and wouldn't shut down so, to the stupid of me, I flicked the main power switch at the back as I had just read in the manual that its a big no no. My bro suggested that because consoles are becoming increasingly similar to PCs, it would be expected as more and more data and usage would cause it to take a bit longer to shut down like a PCs filled registry. Anyway, I was hoping if someone could put my mind at rest and declare it as normal or if my doubts are true and I should see about repairing it. If you're interested in knowing which model it is, its the 80gb version (CECK01/CECK02). Thanks in advance.NightComerbe patient that the best thing with the ps3... if it freezes, load screen seems to be taking longer than usuall..etc.... JUST WAIT before doing anything rash like flipping the back power switch off... you just have let your ps3 think some times...... but yeah i have never counted the secs for how long it takes but 8 - 10 sec i would guess how long it takes mine... dont worry about the lights as long as you dont see the yellow light your cool...
