i also want to know what happened..since im gonna get a PS3 soon...humm...is there a way that you can send me a message or something, telling me what happened ???? :)
There could be a very fine film of oil from your skin that has built -up on the these switches that would insulate the heat from your finger being tranfered to the sensor. This may be the only thing wrong with the buttons, you may want to try a very mild cleaner to try and see what happens. Also you have to leave your finger on the button long enough for the time delay and temperture sensor to activate the sensor.
Note I know some people that actually have to warm there hands in warm water or some other method to bet this type of switch to work.
my ps3 done the same thing i took it apart and realised the metal touch bits which go 2 the mothorboard were rusted but u can just touch the motherboard bits and it will work i still cant find any parts i can buy thoughboblet_69How on earth would they get rusted? :? Oh, and...zombie thread.
Well, I have the exact same problem. It's been going on for about 3 months and it worked after I rubbed my finger against it for some time, but this time it just really won't work. This is the first time I've seen someone with this problem. If your fingers are even slightly moist the heat sensors can be thrown off.
