Hey i was just wondering if anyone new the release date of the new firmware, im really looking forward to it...ive heard March 7, or March 10, or the Euro launch day March 23...but does anyone know the exact date and what features it will include?
I hope they have it so you can set it to stop it to where it will automatically play whatever disc is in there when you start it up, I hate having to push the d-pad quickly to stop it from playing a disc!
From ThreeSpeech in December: On the same day as playstation 3’s euro launch SCE are to distribute there march firmware update with features including: multi-tasking (included will be audio/video conferencing while browsing the xmb and its features/ gameplay). new xmb display options new animations for audio playback. new photo album options. playstation store auto ressume psp remote play advanced access option (so that you can have access to your ps3’s content anywhere that has a internet connection)

d pad? ....ya but I know what your saying...they probably will fix that soon, they have corrected that issue with the PSP....its funny....the PSP seems 2 be the template for the PS3 development.....
it will be befor the 23 cuz if somthing went wrong and they didnt get it out then everyone would be like WTF IS IT EVEN COMING SONY IS SO STUPID....etc
There's a lot of things the PS3 needs as far as visual and organizational help. I mean, when my friend goes to find music, he has to sift through all his music. I know you can put the stuff in folders, but why can't it be organized a little better? Videos too. My friend has literally 30+ videos, and all are in alphabetical order, but he can't narrow down the search to something more specific. I don't know, it just seems like it needs more polishing.
The PSN network is upheld by three different datacenters. One in the US, one in Europe and one in Japan. The load will be split between these datacenters so you US players won't be 'punished' by the EU launch.

Then don't be dumb and get it from Sony's website from your computer. 3 million people isn't really that many - and it's not like they're all simultaneously going to be downloading the update. Plus, I think it's safe to assume Sony has multiple servers to cover Europe, US, and Japan.

Why doesn't Sony just launch European PS3's with the latest firmware update? I think thats what they'll do anyway
