Hi guys im new here. I have a problem and am hoping you guys can help me decide on what to do.

A couple months ago I tried updating my ps3 via usb because I dont have home internet. I had just gotten a new hard drive and installed it without a problem. Anyways I put in the usb and started the update but it failed at around 40% I retried it a couple times then looked up the error code on google. Found out it failed because the bluetooth/wifi didnt work and it was now going to be in an infinite loop. I searched up ways to solve it and decided to try to format the harddrive on my pc. (Cant remember what I used to do that) I put it back in but it still failed. I tried formatting again on the computer thinking maybe I skipped a step. But when I put it back in the ps3, the ps3 wouldnt detect it.

So my question is. Is there a way to fix this or should I just buy a used ps3. And if I buy a ps3 and put in the hard drive, would it format it on its own even though the original ps3 couldnt detect it?

@doguji: well if you can't fix it buy one from amazon. Now they are cheap like around 108 for a slim, just get one with less gb and swap the hdd. If you find out its your hdd then dayum.
