I'm close to buying a PS3 right now and was wondering what else it offers other than games and internet. Specifically I was wondering if it can connect to my Windows PC wireless or Bluetooth.

You can use your PC as a media server by connecting the PS3 via your wireless network, however, in some cases its a pain in the butt to configure and may even require a 3rd party software on you PC to make it easier to set up.

This is funny. He specifically asked for what the PS3 offers OTHER THAN games and internet, yet you specifically listed 'games' and 'internet' as two of its features. Netflix streaming is available on all 3 systems. So essentially the only reason he should it is because of the Blu-Ray player?

if the system cost as much as a bluray player and it does so much more then that then is there really any other reason he needs... unless he already has a bluray player

You can get a Blu-Ray player for just under $100, and a high end one with a home theatre for $250. The PS3 costs much more than that.

Yes, can connect to a media server on your windows PC. I don't think there's any way, at least officially, to use the ps3 bluetooth for data transfer. You can connect a printer, either by network or usb. Don't plan on using it as your internet browser, because though it does have one, it's complete crap and you will want something else. There are several services integrated directly into it like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Qriocity's Music Unlimited, NHL Gamecenter, MLB.tv, and VUDU, each of which may charge their own subscription fee. Sony also has their own store that sells and rents movies at exorbitant prices.
