It's a good game and yes they patched it. There isn't much difference now, just a little (graphic wise because it was poorlyported). But it still looks good and is a great game. didn't run into many bugs (well at least any that made the gaming experience bad.)
It isn't noticeably bad, but I didn't like it as a game that much. Its not very buggy, although the graphics aren't very good, but if you like FPS/RPG's you'll PROBABLY have alot of fun with this.
Do not get fallout 3 it is a waste of your money one of the mistakes i have made is buying it after playingit forfor 5 minutes i was like wow this game ishorridso then i sold it to some kid.

ok so you don't like FPSRPGs
if you even liked Oblivion even the SLIGHTEST.....you will enjoy Fallout 3. I love this game, but it eats away at your personal life something awful.
yeah but that wasn't the question. I was just asking graphically if they cleaned some of the stuff up. I wasn't asking for your opinion on whether i'd like the game or not or if it was a good game.
Its def the least of the 3 versions. The graphics are a bit below that of the 360. mainly the jaggies are worse. but all 3 have some bug issues. IF you can get it for the pc or 360 then thats the way to go. specialy if you have a high end pc. But even if all you can get it for is the ps3 its well worth it. Its a huge game with a lot of stuff to do. The main quest line is not very long but it has a TON of side quest just like Oblivion. Its a huge game and of good qulity.I was thinking of picking this up, but i heard the ps3 version has some issues. Is it pretty comparable to the other platforms? did htey patch this stuff?

its a really good game but if you have an xbox 360 i suggest you buy it on the 360 cause theyre gonna have all the DLC
Fallout 3 was a close 2nd for Game of the Year 2008 in my book. I originally had the PS3 version because I got it for real cheap off of Craigslist. I played it for about 40 hours and really loved the game. I loved it so much that I traded it in for the 360 version b/c of downloadable content.
As far as the two are concerned, yes, the 360 version runs better and looks better. I put about 120 hours into the game (counting 40 PS3 hours and about 80 Xbox 360 hours) and neither version ever froze up on me. The 360 version has better lighting; for example, I was able to notice the light on the Pip-Boy in dark areas better. Other than that, the two games look the same. If you have the choice, get the 360 version, but the PS3 version is no slouch at all. Depriving yourself of this game would be a terrible sin.
As far as downloadable content goes...I don't really think you're missing out on all that much. Yeah Fallout is awesome and yeah it's great to continue to explore the universe, but the DLC isn't very long, and at 10 bucks a pop...it adds up.
If you don't have the choice, buy the game on PS3 and enjoy the core game. OR...you could wait for a year or so and wait to see if a GOTY version comes up that includes all of the expansion packs. Bethesda's port of Fallout 3 is no Orange Box (I mean that in a good way). Either way, you'll be playing a fantastic game on the PS3.

a well in that case no, they have not cleaned up the graphics sence retail. You cant clean up graphics after release, but they did fix alot of the bugs like the freezing and framerate issues, however I still am thinking about selling my PS3 version and getting the 360 version because I want to get Broken Steel. Please Log In to post.
