Well I'm thinking of getting either a ps3 or a 360 because my wii kinda shy on games (rpgs..).

I know this forums might favor the ps3 but I'd like to hear you thoughts. It's either a x360 premium or a 40GB ps3.

Whats the diffrance between the 40GB and 80GB besides HDD space. I'm not into Blu-ray yet because I have a normal tv and don't want to replace it. Hows PSN I've hears it's bad, what do you guys think? Oh lastly if theres a game on ps store do I need a credit card or can I buy a card thing?

Thanks ps3 users

360. More and better games. Better controller. Better online service. Cheaper(which depends) So basically if you care about the actual gaming part more than just wanting a new espensive multimedia toy, get the 360.

as a ex-xbot and a pswii60 owner i can only advise you to get a ps3.

it gives you access to the massive ps2 library (with the exception of the 40gig ps3)

blu-ray movie player

one of the best controller designs ever (its been used for how many years now?)

reliable hardware

good games are out, despite what x-bots tell you. and the library is only going to get filled with great titles this year and next year.

It depends what you want to do. Ps3 is free online and xboxyou have to pay a bit. On the ps store demos are all free.Full games and add-ons you gotta pay for. And you have to use a credit card to buy them. There are PS store cards but only in japan so far. They will prolly come out here sooner or later.

There reallly is only a couple good PS3 games out now. Just Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, and Heavenly Sword(Ratchet and Heavenlyareonly worth a rental since they are short, easywith no replay value) And the only other exclusivegames coming out this holiday are Uncharted and Haze.

Look, at the moment, the 360 has better games. But the PS3, I believe, has a better future! Look at the games coming out; Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, Uncharted, LBP, GOW etc etc. The PS3's future is bright! The PS network is improving all the time (Home is coming out soon and its gonna rock!)... The PS3 is reliable, and will last for years & years! It's got all the media capabilities you'll need &, from what Ive read, is actually a cheaper package than the 360.

But it's entirely up to you. have a look at what both systems have to offer (games, online etc) and see what best suits you!

PSN is not bad. Just as with Live, some games are great and some games are terrible. PSN is still in its formative period, but games like Resistance and Warhawk play GREAT. I'm happy with my purchase, but that doesn't mean I'm not planning on picking up an Xbox soon. But there's no way I'm taking the plunge until those failure rates are reduced.

am i the only one who sees that eventually xbox+online will be more expensie than ps3+online. if u like fps, then yes, by all means, buy yourself a 360. the controller is more designed for those games and they have a great selection of fps.

if u want some variety and innovation while still appealling to your teenage/adult preferences, i would go for a ps3

just realize that the amount u pay for online for 360 (i don't know the amount, so i'll just use $5 a month) will be about $60 a year. that equals one new release game. people who bought a 360 at launch (2 years ago) and have online have so far payed ($499 launch price + taxes (15%) + 2 years online (using my estimate)) roughly $690, and thats not including games. at this point, people who bought the ps3 at launch ($599 + 15% tax + free online) have spend less money on the system alone.

If my figures are incorrect, don't flame me, just fix them.

both have great games but you say you want a RPG right? well Mass Effect is coming out on november 20th and Bioshock has already been out for a while, my guess is that you would want to get a 360, if not then the ps3 is also a great choice, but I wouldn't miss out on Mass Effect for anything,

Well if you like rpg's then go with the PS3 because in the future there will be a wider selection for you to play. The difference between the 40 and 80gb is two less usb ports and no card readers for the 40gb. As 4 the PSN it's a awesome service that will only get better with future firmware updates. Anyone who tell you otherwise is clueless.

just to tell you is $50 a year the online and you have to pay that full price to start 360 online for a whole year and I don't think you can cancel it (until the time period is over) or get even a portion back if you stop it inthe year

thats one big reason why I didn't buy a 360 also because it blows up, has a power brick, unreliable, very little variety, looks ugly, scratchs dvd's, and in my opinion it's not future proof (next 2-6 years)

well right now the 360 is the better buy because of the games, and the superior online service (Xbox Live) even though you have to pay for it ($50 or something a year?).

However, in the very near future the PS3 will surpass or at least be equal to the 360 because the PS3 has free online, and the upcoming "Home" will allow PS3 owners to have the same features that 360 users have and more, much more. the game library will expand with games like Killzone 2, MGS4, FFXIII/versusXIII, etc.

The PS3 basically has everything you need packed into it when you buy so theres really nothing you need to buy in terms of add-ons (except HDMI cables). The 360 does not have built in Wi-Fi and if you want it you'll have to pay another $100 or so. The 360 has about a 30% chance of breaking down when you buy it and sending it back to MS is a big hassel and can take up to 2-4 weeks to get it back. The PS3 on the other hand, is incredibly reliable (though granted this is the real world and there is a chance a PS3 will breakdown, but very rarely).

The chief difference between the 40gb and 80gb is that the 40gb CANNOT play PS2 games, while the 80gb can. The 80gb also comes with a free games (Motorstorm) pretty fun racing game, love the crashes :P. The 40gb doesnt have card readers, while the 80gb does and the 40gb has only 2 USB ports compared to the 4 USB ports the 80gb has. Though granted 2 USB ports is more than enough since you only use the USB ports to recharge the controllers, and hook up like an MP3 or something.

Hope this helps you decsion. =D

You're asking this in a PS3 forum.... you can already expect what kind of answer you're going to get. btw.... 360 > PS3 in terms of triple A titles... and AA titles.... But... i guess if you really want a blu-ray player and less games... go for PS3.

get a ps3. i love mines. psn is not that horrible. i dont know what eevryone is talking about. besides u go to psn to download demos and trailers, not to see how pretty it is. 40 gig is a solid proof system and it has a great price. only downfall is u cant play ps2 games on it, but ur buying the ps3 for ps3 games anyway, so go for it. and it doesnt break.

The card reader is for things like memory cards, but you really don't need them since you can save data to a flash drive. You don't need an HDTV to play, but your games will look better on an HDTV.
