Hey Guys, Well ... I own a SDTV not a HD & i have a CRT Viewsonic 17" E70F Flat Monitor . I Think that i wont be able to purchase a HDTV soon so i was wondering would i purchase the PS3 and play it on the SDTV or hook it up to my CRT to play at higher Resolutions (720p) (P.S: I Dont know if PS3 can be connected to the CRTs like the X360 does or not "VGA Connection" ) OR should i buy a new Rig with a 8800 GTX GFX Card and connect it to my Viewsonic ... which option would be better, which one would be more entertaining to play the first option or the second one .. please, i need advise !
Does the CRT at 720p perform as well as a HDTV at 720p or not ?? and is there is much difference between them ???
I have that monitor, and youll wanna slap it on the TV. That monitor lacks classification of 720p, but even so itd be running at a low hz and probably scream. TV is your best bet till you (and I) pickup a modern monitor or HDTV.
Well, thanx m8 for ur opinion , but wut abt the choice of getting a new PC with a 8800 Series or something and forget about the PS3 ... ???silver____xenon
Thats always an option, tho an 8800 wont do to well on that monitor either :)
I'd just look at the game lineup for PS3 and PC and decide based on that. Me personally i'd go for the PS3 over a PC anyday.Eagle-Teeth
Yeah ! I guess its the same for me , i'd prefere to play NFS Prostreet using a SIxaxis than a Keyboard, and GTA IV too , not comin to PC , On the other hand , there are also some Online games on PC thats not available for PS3 Ex: WoW

On topic: How much money do u have just to throw away? If it's less than 2000$ (that's what a very mediocre PC costs in the part of Europe I live in so it might be a "little" less in America) u should choose PS3 over PC. U really don't want to buy a bad computer and BTW choose Mac over PC. Macs totally on PCs y'know.
