I had the exact same problem. On the modem/router there is a password for security. You need to go on your modems page by typing in your default gateway.Go to run, type in cmd, when command prompt comes up type in ipconfig/ all, then look for your default gateway and type it in your web browser. Go to your security page and put in a password and save it, make sure it WEP. Then go to the ps3 and when the security settings comes up go to WEP Security and type in that passwork for your modem router, then it should work. This might be confusing so send me a message if you have any questions. Also make sure the ps3 is in DMZ mode on your modem setttings.

I would suggest to get a none wireless connection, if it's possible of course!

If I read t-machine's answer right it is for a security locked router - did they set this up themselves? Did they get it through Best Buy etc and had it setup? Either way they should have gotten all the password information and also in the router info is the http: address that you need to go to.

If you are savy and can't find the passwords you can also reset the router completely - press the reset button - that will clear all information - then you are going to have to set everything up again. May or may not be worth the risk.

In regards to the nano - don't know. I would try taking the kids nano to your home and check it on the ps3 - issue there and it is the nano - no issue and it is the ps3..

Dont forget to try a power cycle. Unplug everything for 60 seconds then plug it all back in again.
