Anyone know any good monitors I can buy for about 150-200$. What kind of cables will I need? I would buy an hdtv but I don't want to spend 700$+, and I don't have any hd channels at home.

HP, Hewlett Packard monitors? I havn't tried playing on a monitor before, but I know it needs to have HDCP or something. You would probably need a HDMI to DVI cable?

Uhm Im not sure what you mean... I have a non-HD monitor, the Samsung syncmaster 910mp, and you just need your standard Red yellow white cables..... but if you want to get an HD monitor for your ps3... it will need to have an HDMI or DVI port on the back....you can get a converter HDMI to DVI... do some research

You'll need an HDMI to DVI cable, and the monitor you aim to use needs to be HDCP compatible. Along with that you'll need an alternate method of connecting audio equipement either through the optical jack to a stereo or the stereo RCA's to a stereo or other sound system. A good monitor in the 19" range will cost you around $200-250 at the most, and will be 1440 x 900 in resolution, which is of course above 720p. Good 22" monitors will cost you around $280-300 with 1680 x 1050, and a decent 24" $400+ with full 1920 x 1080 resolution. At that point I'd just consider getting a 720p HDTV. It wouldn't be too much more expensive, and very very few games on either the 360 or PS3 even render above 720p output, so a 720p HDTV would be a good choice for your bedroom.

Hey,

Works great! Get a monitor with a DVIcp. That normally supports 720P. I play on a 22" with a HDMI to DVI cable. Beware of the fact that most monitors don't have speakers. You will need to get an amp + speakers, split the sound (SCART or Optical out) and the video, that's quite easely done. System menu Sound trough scart. I can be that the video output is on regular when you try to connect your PS to the monitor. Then!

Hold the on buttom till you hear another beep, it will reset it self to the output you using. So that will be HDMI.

Good luck

How did you get your video to work with your gaming console? I hooked up my ps2/ps3 to my syncmaster 910mp and I get sound and no video. Tried multiple cords. Any suggestions?
