I've had this problem since I got my PS3. Sometimes it just decides it won't connect to the internet. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but the only thing that works is to just wait for it to start working itself. Does anybody know what could be causing it?

Is it wireless or wired, because if it's wireless you could be to far away

It's wireless, although I think I was still getting a decent signal.

Ahh, so there's nothing I can do about it? I just thought it was strange that it works fine most of the time.

well you could see if that's the problem... if you can, try direct connecting your ps3 to your router/dsl whatever.. and see if that makes it better

My PS3 is receiving 100% signal from my router, but still dropping games and giving connection or DNS errors. I had to call Rockstar (trying to play GTAIV), Sony, AND ****** before I finally got an answer from ******.

The router I have doesn't allow enough ports to be open to run Playstation Network AND the GTA IV game online, so I get kicked off a lot or can't get on unless I'm running a DMZ (Google search it to set one up but WARNING: it eliminates your firewall if it's on, making you vulnerable). Running a DMZ keeps things running smoothly for the most part (I get kicked sometimes still).

I can't try wired right now. I don't have any cables that stretch from my router to the T.V. I've also tried the DMZ before, it didn't help.

It sounds like a problem with the router, not the PS3. Make sure your firewalls are turned off, and you want your NAT settings to be either 1 or 2, if its 3 you'll have difficulties.
