That might of been the cleaner, it states in the Manuel do not use and disc cleaning solutions if cleaning the blu-ray lence. You have to use conpressed air. i would personally just send it to sony so i cant void anything

Your Blu-ray laser is starting to burn out, right now it just has a tiny little dimple in the laser lense that doesn't effect the beam from reading DVDs or CDs. If your not too tech savy then call sony and get it repaired. I'm guessing that it most likely isn't in warranty (1 year) because it has B/C so it will cost you $150.

i dont think this is the DRE case,, Id suggest op to reformat the system. I think that's because due to some file errors while saving the game. Trust me, i have been through DRE, the system just completely stopped reading any disc.

Well i had this same exact problem, only at first the ps3 would sorta read PS3 games but only for 30 minutes or so, and then it wouldn't read any Blu-ray disc. although yeah TC you should try reformating first and do a system restore before sending it back or opening it up

paying 150 bux is stupid.. id rather open it and clean it by myself.. it would not be hard to do so.. btw of course op should send it back if the ps3 is still under warranty.

I know, it shouldn't cost that much, you can buy a new laser for it for $80. and it really isn't that hard replacing it i've done it twice now (and gonna have to do again  )

I heard that if you fail to clean the lens or for some reason you could not bring back the ps3... you still can send it back and just pay 150 even though the warranty seal is broken =/

back-up your saves if you can, and reformat the HDD. I think you should at least try that before calling Sony for the coffin...

happen the same to me after leaving gta4 2 hours on pause, the thing is, it doesn't read bluray discs, but it still reads dvds and cds, u fried the lens, so warranty, pay for repair, or buy the part and replace it yourself, check youtube for videos
