my nephew moved in with us and he has a psp.I did search threads before posting but with no luck.First i hook up psp to ps3 with usb cable because thats what it says to do and it dosent find it.Usb is turned on the psp i have all updates even for psp can some one help me please?
Make sure you arent running an old firmware version.. update your FW on the PSP.. secondly, after its plugged in, go to USB Connect on the cross media bar and that should find it.
yes i updated psp it shows connection on psp thats ist hooked to ps3 then tells me to use remote play i try then it says error vj226966
With the new version of the software on the Ps3, you need to register the PSP before you can use Remote Play. Did you even read the instructions? You need to go to the Remote Play settings on the Ps3 then "Add Device" and then make sure the PSP is connected to the PS3 via the USB cable. It will then register the PSP on the Ps3 and THEN you can use Remote Play.

What firmware version is your PSP running? I think it needs to be 3.01 or higher.
make sure you Ps3 firmware is up to date, and that your PSP firmware is 3.30 (the newest edition) and then you have to go into the PS3 setting with the PSP connected and register it.

dude i'm having same problem and i did all the things mentioned here but it still wont work! I have all the updates but when i try my psp trys to connect via the internet! then i get a msg saying "connection error 8001006f" Even with usb plugged in. can someone plz do an idiots run thru for me? cheers
i dont know what i did but i did everything that i was told and at first it woulndnt work then i tried it again and i worked i was watching my porn and listening to my 1091 songs outside upstairs downstairs life is good

youcan't acces the internet on a PsP trhough a USb cable, if your trying to register it on your PS3 you just have the make sure both systems have the newest firmware, then with the PSP attched the the PS3 with a USB cable you go to uSB mode on the PSP and press x, then on your PS3 you go to Remote play settings and press X, then go to register device and follow the steps on screen and it should work fine.

im having the same problem i did everything and i have all the latest firmwares and i've registered my psp to my ps3 but still im getting the 8001006F error i cant seem to fix it
can some one please help i really want to try remote play thanx.......
