My friends ps3 wont show and picture on the Tv. Sound works fine you can hear the start up music. He's using an hdmi cable to connect the TV. He has the old bigger Ps3.

I have nearly no experience using the ps3, except playing on his. Any suggestions would be apprecitated!

Hold the power button for like 5 seconds until it beebs then turn it back on. I know its a trick to just hold the power button on an off for a couple of seconds. (Don't know exactly but its not hard to do by trial and error)

if he does that it will reset the display to standard tv and he will have the same problem. if you have any other cables for the ps3 try those because your display may be set to component or standard, if not sounds like your HDMI cable is fracked
