hey guys, erm this is my first post as I just recently bought a ps3 from Littlewoods direct. Anyways I have three problems regarding the ps3 which I have sorted out as a list.

1 - On the first day the PS3 froze on me three times, once on the xmb, once in Resistance and once when downloading Burnout Paradise Demo. since then I have not had any more freezes, this is my 5th day with the ps, should i be worried that i may have a broken PS3. have you guys ever experienced a freeze.

2 - Although I didnt realise it at first because at daytime everyone is loud, but at night time say after i have stopped play resistance online and switch it off, for around 2-3 minutes i hear clicking noises, not together but 10 seconds in between. Do you guys ever hear this after switching your ps3 off.

3 - Finally, regarding the sixaxis controller, underneath the thumbsticks do you have a circle scratch, i have had this since day one as when you rotate the thumbstick, there is a scratch going around underneath the thumbstick. Have you guys got this issue. Also are all sixaxis controllers the same version.

Please answer my questions accordingly, although i may seem a bit sad with these small issues, they seem to be bugging me a lot especially the freezing and clicking noise after it is switched off. Thanks.

Congrats on getting PS3. Now for your qustions.

1. Have you updated your Firmware? If so then turn off the information box that appears in the top right coner. If not. The PS3 does freeze sometimes. Not often. No need to worry. But just keep keep your reciept (sp?)handy

2. I dont turn mine off. I put it in Standby. But I have not heard clicking.

3. My controllers have been like that since the PS2. Just something with them. It will be fine.

I don't have the clicking problem, and mine didn't freeze, but it can happen, don't worry.Anyways with the clicking problem, if it persists i suggest you to take it back for repairs or whatever, but wait a while and see if it still clicks.

LordMe is pretty much correct. 1- Turn off the infobox. It's causing random freezing. 2 - I usually don't turn mine all the way off just use the controller and set it in standby by holding the "PS" button then choosing turn off system. 3- My controllers have the ring too. Don't worry about it.

4- Congrats on your PS3!

The freezing is most likely the information bar or a glitch with a game.

The clicking noise is just a natural thing that happens when something is warm and it cools down, it's caused by expansion and contraction of the materials. Nothing to worry about.
