PS3 worth getting now ??

Hi, I'm sort of late into the nextgen, and I'm wondering whether it is too late to get a PS3, because the nextgen is almost over? when is the "ps4" and the xbox "720" coming out? I just want to know if I'm going to buy a ps3 and about a year after BAM! PS4! and i'm gonna be like WTF?

it is totally fine. i recently bought a ps3. the console is only 2 years old right now, and sony has supported the ps2 for 9 years now. they plan to do the same wit ps3. Plus, even the most extreme analysts think it won't be before 2013 when the new generation begins. trust me.

wii is selling like mad there in no hurry to come out with a new console

and ps3 and 360 are just starting to make money , they have to keep the current consoles going for several more years

I dont think "next gen" is almost over at all, like another post said, its only 2 years old and the ps2 has had many many years of support. Besides, Home isnt even out yet and although it will probably carry over to the PS4, im sure they want it on the PS3 for an extended period of time as well. The longer you wait the more you'll regret not getting one earlier!lawman86

yea dats true. i jst got my ps3 last month i thnk and i love it. i wouldn't b surprised if they come out wit the ps4 til possibly around 2012 or longer. so i'd get it now but thats jst my opinion..

PS4 isn't coming out in like... years... Sony would have to make so many new features which they already have lots of on the PS3 wo new ideas could be a challenge.

I wouldnt say you cant go wrong. :[ im about to be on my 4th ps3 . but i still am a fan, just keep getting mad about it

There has yet to be a big leap technology wise to even consider a PS4. The cell is still fairly new.

That's what so many seem to forget. The PS1 was developed around the CD disc drive. The PS2 was developed mainly to bring DVD into the market. The PS3 was released to get Blu-Ray technology started in the main stream markets. And there isn't any new technology being developed to replace this storage media so far.

Don't think Sony would be so hasty to make a new console. The PS3 hasn't even started to leave footprints.

GO GET THE PS3, I got one recently, and I don't regret any moment of it.

Of course get one. The best thing out there right now.

I would actually argue that now is the best time to get a PS3. Seriously.

And dont worry, the PS3 (and this gen in general) has plenty of time of left. :)
