Ps3 XMB

My Ps3 XMB just recently has been really slow to load up, in game that is and when i go to send a message to my friends, when i choose to select id from list it never loads.

Also when i select a friends name i cant send messages to them. Anybody know whats going on/ has the same problem?

No its during matches on CoD4 etc. And sending messages to friends doesnt even work while the games are off and its just the XMB:?

Its so bad.. when i close it during games also it takes quite a while for the clear greyish black screen to go away.Shifts1

contact sony thats the only thing i can think of

it wont load trophies either. When i click on any of my friends their avatar type thing dissapears to be the cube face and the swirling arrows never load into trophies. Does anyone know whats going on?

Yea thats kinda odd. I never mess with it to much anyways "see no need for it." But that I have never seen.

Reformat your hard drive by restoring the factory settings.

would that get rid of all my online stats and saves?Shifts1

I had a friend with a similar problem. online stuff stays in the servers. Just back up your save data for your games. And if reformating does not work call Sony and see what they say.

MAYBE your PS3 knows you have a GeOW icon for your picture and is punishing you for liking anything to do with 360!

Try turning of the information board. Thats what i did.

i get the same thing, but mine loads eventually, its just really slow. then if im still in it and the game starts (after being in the lobby) it lags really bad.

also i have my information board off and autoplay off. But i dont know if that makes any difference.

The GeoW pic and the constant stream of problems has me thinking he's a troll.

His profile is completely empty apart from his avatar, and this stream of problems seems to be all to conincidental considering no-one else on this forum has the same problem.

The XMB does take a little longer to load in game, and with a multiplayer game the CPU would be a little slower due to all the calculations it has to make.

But I doubt it's really happening.
