Ok, I am getting a PS3 soon & I am questionish the YLOD.
What is more common, the RROD or the YLOD?

Yaa i currently have YLOD on my PS3... I'm wondering if they'll be able to replace the same 60gb model for me or not? BTW whats RROD?Coolboy420xRROD: red ring of death its when the first, third and fourth quadrants flash red
Look just do this when you buy a PS3 Buy a Intercooler that DOES NOT CONNECT TO THE POWER PLUG BUT SEPERATE that you could smack on and remove easily for only 30.00 Listen i have a intercooler on my PS3 and its perfectly fine...Young_Charter
You shouldnt need a seperate cooling fan, they cann in actual fact be counter productive by blocking air flow, increasing the internal temperature, not reducing it.
As far as im aware its mainly the launch consoles that are affected by over heating fault. i have an 80gb and have never had any issues with it whatsoever, had it just over a year now
the ylod is a rarity id be suprised if you got one
the rrod is 50 percent or more chance id be in shock if you never send your 360 in for its entire life span ,
plus e74 errors disc scratch i definatelly would take my chance with ps3
now the slim isnt out yet and i would wait a week or 2 before laying hands on 1 because i got a slim and been through 3 ps2 slims in less then a yr -well 2 in less then a yr i didnt replace my first until recently i got my first in 2004-early 05 when they were released it over heated
the 2nd one works but the power cord needs to be swiveled a little ,
and the 9000 series one i have stopped sending out av signals from the tv for some odd reason
the one i have now is a 7000 series silver model ,
its working much better then the 9000 and 6000 series ones i had before
yep (according to Game Informer) and the ps3 only has a 10% failure rate.[QUOTE="Knivez0r"]Xbox 360's have a 54% Failure rate i believe.hedden93
soo yeah . . .54% to 10%. I would go with the 10%
DOn't forget of those 54%, 45% have had their refurb console RRoD on them too. Granted, that was a reader poll and could have been scewed in either direction. However given all the horror story about RROD and all the people I know that have gotten one(100% of xbox owners I know have had at LEAST 1 RROD). I'm gonna hafta say that 54% might not be as ffar off as a lot of people would have you believe.Ok thanks for the info guys. & sorry for the confusion, the title SHOULD have said YYOD. Not YYOF.
(The f is near the d anyway)
